I didn’t opt for the highest model, but as a fan of Shark vacuums, I decided to try the self-cleaning vac mop to see how I’d like a robot vacuum. All I can say is WOW!!! With two shedding dogs, four cats, a cockatoo, a husband, and kids, my house is a challenge.
The first picture shows a random run, the second one is after it returned to the dock to empty and then went back to finish where it left off. The third image is from a full house programmed run covering four rooms, one bathroom, and a hallway. The last picture shows the mop pad after cleaning just one room. I was blown away—this room isn’t used often and had been mopped just a couple of days ago!
Using a broom or a cordless stick vacuum (not a Shark, I know, bad choice—I’ll be switching to a Shark soon), I felt like I was creating a toupee daily! This robot vacuum collected enough fur for three toupees in one cleaning! I used normal mode but might try matrix next time to see what else it finds.
I love how it accurately mapped the rooms, showing their sizes and the area it cleaned—it was really impressive! The mop feature worked excellently as well. I have no complaints: no streaks, quick drying, and not sticky at all.
I plan to get the Shark robot vacuum with a wet/dry feature that auto-fills cleaning fluid. I can’t believe how much dirt it uncovers and how clean my floors are now. While there are a few pieces of furniture it can’t go under, it still does a fantastic job controlling dust bunnies, especially when it can get around the furniture.

If your home has two levels, you’ll need two units. I have one step-down room; I just place it inside, press clean, and off it goes. I’m impressed that my floors don’t look like they need sweeping just a few hours later. I don’t have carpet, but I do have a shag rug that absorbs everything under the dog food and water bowls, and it goes right over it! I plan to put a similar rug by the front door, and I’m confident it won’t have any issues there either.

We purchased this during the 2024 Black Friday sales event after having previously owned a different brand’s model, which was just a basic “bump” style. We grew tired of it after a couple of years and wanted to try a more advanced model that could also self-clean. When we saw this one on sale, we decided to give it a shot.
With three large dogs that shed constantly and two indoor cats, our home has hardwood floors throughout, except for the bedrooms. Our plan was for this little robot to manage the hardwood while we used a traditional vacuum on the carpets. Since we’re still moving in and have boxes scattered around, I haven’t been able to do a proper mapping run yet. For now, I’ve allowed the robot to roam freely without mapping, but I hope to have most things organized by the end of the year.
So far, our robot has performed exceptionally well on the hardwood floors, picking up significantly more than our previous one did. It’s impressive to watch it return to the base station to empty itself before continuing its work. One standout feature is how it cleans its brush roller. While it does leave some hair behind in hard-to-reach spots, it’s much easier to remove than with our old vacuum.
The base station’s holding tank would likely last about 30 days in a pet-free home or with just one small pet. However, with our five pets, it fills up within a few days of running 1-2 times daily. After 6-8 days, it was quite full. It could have lasted a bit longer, but I didn’t want to take the chance and opted to empty it when I was already headed to the trash.
One minor annoyance is that the tall foam filter in the base tends to dump dirt when removed for cleaning. I learned this the hard way during my first clean, leaving a trail of fine dirt to the front door. Now I make sure to only take it out outside or over the trash, which requires moving the base. Despite this small inconvenience, I appreciate how much work the robot does for me.

I purchased the Shark 2 in 1 Mopping on Amazon for C$750, and after just 1.5 years of use, it has stopped working. I don’t believe it’s worth the investment. Here are some key issues with this model:
There are two separate installations for vacuuming and mopping. While the vacuum collects dirt in the main base, the mop installation collects dirt and water together, which can lead to clogging due to moisture (this happened to me). Eventually, it failed to recognize the mop installation.
The AI algorithm is not very effective; I’ve encountered situations where it gets stuck in a loop and requires a restart, particularly in one of my rooms, and this has happened multiple times.
The warranty is quite limited. Shark offers only a 1-year warranty on a product that costs over $700, which suggests a lack of confidence in their product. After the first year, any issues will require additional funds for repairs, with no guarantee of a solution.
I’ve used it carefully in my 500 sq. ft. home, but it still stopped working. I cannot recommend this product.

Constantly having to sign in is frustrating, and navigating through it is tedious. I don’t need that level of organization in my life—appliances shouldn’t require apps! What’s next, a broom that connects to an app? I would have rated this a 5-star product if the app were more user-friendly, but it’s neither time-saving nor practical.
On a positive note, the ‘non-tangle’ brush is impressive, and I appreciate that the machine stops if it picks up something that could damage it. For instance, it shut down immediately after picking up a tack, which I love. The floor cleaning feature works well, but since I dislike cleaning machines, I’ll stick to vacuuming. The dust bin is easy to empty, but dealing with the washing liquid is not for me. Overall, it’s worth the investment, but I should have opted for the model that only vacuums to save some money.
