I bought the Bluevua system in November 2022 with two main goals: to save money on bottled water and to avoid the high costs of local delivery services. I wanted to wait a year before writing a review to fully assess its performance, taste consistency, and filter changes. After over a year of use, I highly recommend this product. Living in Southern California, where municipal water quality requires a good filtration system, I was initially hesitant about taste. I’ve always been sensitive to this, leading me to dislike Brita systems due to their off-putting taste. However, the Bluevua delivers a refreshing crispness that pleasantly surprised me, and that flavor has remained consistent throughout my usage.
Changing the filters is hassle-free, thanks to clear instructions in the manual and helpful YouTube videos. The filters last over a year, and I find their cost reasonable. Maintaining the unit is also simple; I wipe it down and clean the carafe and holding reservoir every three to four months. Importantly, I’ve successfully met my initial goals with this purchase. The overall price of the unit is fair and offers a great cost-saving alternative.
One note of caution: after each filtration cycle, the holding reservoir retains some water, which is normal. The instructions advise against reusing this water for another cycle, as it affects the taste. Instead, I use it to water my plants, which has been a great solution, especially in areas with high water bills. In summary, if you’re in the market for a reliable, user-friendly water filtration system that delivers excellent results, I highly recommend giving the Bluevua a try. Thank you for reading!

I recently purchased a Bluevua water filter, and it has truly transformed my water experience. It effectively eliminates odors and impurities, providing me with clean, refreshing water. Having just moved to Australia, I found the tap water here to be unpleasant and chemical-tasting, which was quite a nightmare.
The setup was simple, and its modern design looks great on my countertop. The only drawback is the high shipping cost since Bluevua doesn’t ship directly to Australia; I had to go through Amazon. It would be fantastic if this changed in the future, as I believe many others would be interested in their products.
Overall, this filter offers excellent value and has significantly enhanced my hydration. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking clean drinking water!

I was impressed with the Bluevua product even before I unboxed it—the packaging was top-notch. The setup and operating instructions, along with the included pamphlet “A Mix of Green,” made it easy to learn and use. These materials helped me understand Bluevua’s commitment to 1) reducing environmental waste by utilizing 100% recyclable packaging, 2) lowering my costs for filtered water while minimizing my plastic footprint, and 3) ensuring my well-being by providing safe drinking water. Although these features were great, my primary motivation for purchasing this product was the distilled water shortage in the Washington DC Metro Region. I needed distilled water for my CPAP machine and humidifiers, and I was tired of driving to stores only to find empty shelves.
The Bluevua product certainly delivers—producing 1.7 liters of purified (and demineralized) water in about five minutes, filling the included “high borosilicate” glass carafe. The carafe is a perfect size for my refrigerator, although I initially planned to use the built-in filtered water; I may reconsider that.
My household needs approximately three gallons of demineralized water daily during the heating season, which amounts to 90 plastic jugs each month. When I factor in the time, effort, and fuel costs involved in sourcing that water, my Bluevua purifier would be worth the cost even if it only prevented that waste.
While the performance specifications for this unit are impressive, confirming them objectively is challenging for most users. All I can say is that the water tastes great—which is subjective. For those seeking more objective evidence, I took four photos of the Bluevua display after producing 1.7L of water from four sources: 1) city tap water, 2) Brita filter pitcher, 3) my refrigerator’s filter, and 4) the Bluevua’s own purified water. The display shows Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the source water (left number) and in the Bluevua-purified water (right number) in Parts per Million (ppm). From these photos, it appears that 1) city water is hard but safe to drink, 2) my Brita pitcher isn’t adding much value, 3) I likely need to replace my fridge filter (which I did, but it made little difference), and 4) the Bluevua’s source water still contained a fair amount of TDS. I must note that I didn’t back-flush the system between samples, which may affect my observations. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the purification from Bluevua, as it meets my needs.
The only drawbacks I’ve noticed relate to the source/waste water tank. The handle-to-tank attachment point looks a bit fragile, and since this is a countertop unit—not connected to a household drain—the rejected water, containing filtered TDS, must be discarded (I use it to water my plants). The tank holds about 3.25L of water, and filling it to the “max” line yields up to 1.7L of purified water. Therefore, if you need less than 1.7L, avoid filling the tank to the max. There are four selectable quantities of purified water, and it would be helpful to have markings on the tank indicating the minimum amount of water needed for each quantity. I plan to determine these levels and mark my tank accordingly.
In conclusion, I’m pleased with this product, and if I continue to be satisfied, I’ll likely purchase and install one of Bluevua’s under-the-counter units after I break even on this one. That’s all I have to say.
