It prevents audio accidents and provides visual feedback on the mic’s status—crucial for maintaining professionalism during streams or meetings.

10 reviews for Review of HyperX QuadCast S

The product arrived very well packaged, and the box itself is quite secure with a protective impact-resistant design. The cable is impressively long, measuring about 2 meters, and is made from durable material. The microphone quality is excellent, delivering flawless sound, and its construction is a sturdy metal. The microphone stand is also of high quality, ensuring stable use, even though it comes with an adapter for attaching to an articulating arm. It was supposed to arrive on July 15th, but it actually got here on the 9th.

A high-quality microphone with customizable colors. I really appreciate its design and the sound it captures.

I was impressed by the product description and positive reviews, which led me to believe this microphone would be a solid choice, especially at this price point. My unit arrived opened but in perfect condition. This mic is a step up from a generic one I purchased in 2020; it offers more advanced features and a sleek design. The sound quality is significantly better, and I appreciate the added functionalities. The mute button is great—it toggles the lights on and off and is very responsive.

One standout feature is the gain knob, which is quite innovative; I haven’t encountered many mics with such a user-friendly gain dial. It has a nice tactile feel, and the aux audio output is a welcome addition. The free NGenuity PC app from HyperX allows for sound and lighting adjustments, including various lighting patterns, speed, brightness, and hue. The option to program presets and export settings to the mic is an excellent touch.

Its plug-and-play versatility is impressive, as it works seamlessly with my PC, guitar amp, DJI Action 4 camera, and Samsung Galaxy. The included boom mount adapter is fairly universal; I opted for the larger size for added stability.

In terms of performance, this mic holds its own against other leading podcast and streaming microphones available today. While there are a few comparable models, none I’ve seen have the large dial adjustment feature. The overall aesthetic is appealing, and it comes with a sturdy desktop stand and a woven nylon USB-C to A cable (I recommend having a USB-C to C connection handy). Additionally, the sold-separately HyperX Shield Pop Filter enhances the setup.

For potential improvements, it would be beneficial to have a mobile app for adjusting mic settings while connected to a smart device, as well as Bluetooth connectivity. The polar pattern selector knob did come loose initially but snapped back on easily and is functioning fine now. The camera quality is decent, and I’m still working on using it as an aux mic with my Bluetooth receiver input. While it works when directly connected via USB, I’d prefer a solution that allows for simultaneous power and connection to both the camera and PC with a single cable, especially since the mic drains battery quickly with the lights on.

    • Impressive sound quality with various polar pattern options.
    • Integrated shock mount to minimize unwanted noise and vibrations.
    • RGB lighting for a customizable look and aesthetic appeal.
    • Convenient tap-to-mute feature with a clear LED indicator.
    • Simple plug-and-play setup, compatible with PC, PS4, PS5, and Mac.
    • Sturdy build quality that feels durable.

I received the pink Razor Siren for my birthday, but it started malfunctioning almost immediately. I only realized there was an issue when someone pointed out that the sound quality was poor, with the volume unexpectedly spiking and causing discomfort, or dropping so low that people had to crank up the volume in Discord, only for it to blare loudly when I rejoined. Frustrated, I began searching for a better microphone.

Fortunately, I found this one just in time for my boyfriend, who was also in need of an upgrade. He chose the black and red version along with the headset, and the sound quality was exceptional. I ended up buying the white one for my birthday, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s quite heavy—probably too heavy for my old, inexpensive mic arm to support (I may have contributed to that by removing one spring to make it easier to adjust). The microphone feels solid and durable, and I can confidently say that the sound quality is fantastic. I use it for Discord every day, as well as in my job as an online Cambly tutor. I absolutely love this microphone and have no intention of going back to anything from Razor. Plus, the customizable colors and user-friendly software are great features!

This microphone has become my go-to for work. It performs exceptionally well, offering excellent quality and ease of use. Its touch sensitivity for muting and unmuting is fantastic. I absolutely love it!

I recently upgraded my microphone, and it has truly transformed my experience! I primarily use it for casual activities like chatting with friends while gaming, on Twitch or Discord, and for work calls.

This mic completely outshines my old Blue Yeti, especially given the price. The audio quality is crisp and clear, which is a significant improvement. It captures sounds much better than my previous microphone, which can be both a blessing and a curse. On the bright side, it picks up the subtle sounds of dice rolling during our DnD sessions, enhancing the immersion!

The included software is straightforward for adjusting settings, and the gain and mode dials are quite practical. However, the gain dial is a bit sensitive and can be easily bumped. The built-in mute button is incredibly convenient compared to fumbling through software on my computer.

Now, let’s talk aesthetics – the RGB lighting is impressive, and it even indicates when the mic is active based on your settings. Here’s a funny anecdote: during my first Minecraft call with the new mic, everyone complimented how clear my voice was. But then someone jokingly asked if I had a desk fan blowing at the mic because my laptop fan was whirring from running shaders!

Overall, this microphone is fantastic. Just be mindful that it picks up more background noise than you might anticipate. Like the time I forgot to mute during a Discord break, and my group got an unexpected performance featuring my microwave and dryer tumbling in the background.

Despite a few minor quirks, I absolutely love this mic and highly recommend it, especially for casual users like me.

I was very impressed with the quality and construction of the microphone. The audio quality is excellent.

I’m unsure whether the sound quality is good or bad. When I listen to my own voice, I don’t feel like I’m getting that studio quality. It might be a personal issue, but I do appreciate that the microphone has a four-directional pickup. I’m not sure if I should have chosen XLR, or if I simply couldn’t adjust the sound settings properly. I’m connecting the device directly via on-board USB instead of using an audio interface. I route the sound through HyperX > Nvidia Broadcast (noise cancellation) > SS Sonar for final output. It sounds better now, but I’m not certain if it needed to go through so many filters.
