This laptop is fantastic! The screen pad is a useful feature, though it can feel a bit awkward at times—I’m sure it’s just a matter of getting accustomed to it. I’ve noticed that the Windows 10 start icon doesn’t always work, so I often rely on the Windows key instead. Overall, the screen size is impressive, colors are vibrant, and the speakers are average.

    Everything was great.

Asus has truly outdone themselves with the new ASUS ZENBOOK 15 4K edition, featuring a dedicated Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card. The 15.6-inch UHD display (4096X2160) offers impressive picture quality and vibrant colors. While the brightness specification isn’t clearly stated, I estimate the screen’s NITS to be between 330 and 350, though there are no reviews yet for this high-end model.

The performance is exceptional; this laptop is a multitasking powerhouse. The 10th generation i7-1051OU processor handles tasks effortlessly. I can watch YouTube while simultaneously opening an Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint presentation, all on one screen, and even jump into Adobe Pro to render photos or videos. It’s a remarkable upgrade from my old Coffee Lake MSI. The 10th generation processors run relatively cool, but under heavy load, the laptop can get quite warm—up to 92 degrees! However, the CPU throttles down to around 2.6 to 2.8 GHz to maintain cooler temperatures.

When it comes to gaming, it performs surprisingly well. With the GTX 1650, I can achieve frame rates between 38 to 65 FPS on high settings for lighter titles. In “Children of Morta,” I enjoyed full 4K at 60 FPS, and “Trials of Mana” ran at around 38 to 42 FPS in full UHD. Just remember to use the ASUS 120-watt power adapter to get those results; the performance drops when on battery.

Now, let’s talk about the ScreenPad 2.0, the 5.8-inch touchscreen mouse pad. This feature seems to be polarizing—some love it, while others don’t. Personally, I don’t find it very useful. After some software updates from ASUS, it might become more functional, but for now, aside from using it as a calculator or watching Netflix while working on my Excel sheet, I don’t see much need for it. It feels more like a novelty to impress friends.

The top five highlights of the 10th Gen ASUS ZENBOOK 4K edition are:

1 The stunning 4K IPS screen.

    2 The powerful Comet Lake i7-1051OU 4-core, 8-thread processor.

3 The Nvidia GTX 1650 dedicated graphics card.

4 The comfortable keyboard, which includes a number pad I find quite handy. However, the backlighting is just okay—not very bright, and some keys don’t light up at all. The high brightness setting feels odd to me, and I believe ASUS could have approached the keyboard lighting differently.

5 The laptop’s lightweight design—it’s only 4.2 pounds, making it incredibly portable for a 15-inch laptop.

In conclusion, would I recommend this laptop? Absolutely! However, if you want the 4K version, consider saving around $200 for the blue and gold edition. I opted for the silver Icy Lake model at $1199 instead of the $1399 price tag. In my opinion, the Icy Lake silver is the better choice and saves you some money.

Bottom line: If you’re seeking a fast, multitasking laptop with the ability for light to medium gaming, this is the one for you. Before purchasing the Zenbook 15, I also researched the ASUS G14 with the AMD 4900HS, but the heat levels concerned me and ultimately influenced my decision to go with this model. I hope this review assists you in making your purchase decision for this high-performance ultrabook.

I did extensive research before purchasing a new laptop, and although I don’t typically write reviews, I felt compelled to share my experience with this one. I am truly impressed by its performance; it has far exceeded my expectations. I primarily bought it for work but wanted the option to play some games, and it has delivered beyond what I anticipated.

ScreenPad – The ScreenPad is fantastic for online signatures, which is how I use it. I’ve seen many reviews criticizing it, but it works great for my needs.

Display – The display is incredibly clear and sharp, with a resolution of 3840×2160, which is 4K.

CPU – The CPU is extraordinarily fast. The 10th generation Intel processor is astonishing. Paired with 16GB of RAM and GTX Graphics, everything runs seamlessly.

Graphics for Gaming – I mainly play Rocket League and Fortnite, both of which have low system requirements. On Rocket League, I run just under max settings at around 160-170fps, which is impressive. Fortnite, being a bit more demanding, still runs smoothly at 80-90fps consistently. If you’re wondering about its gaming capabilities, rest assured, it performs exceptionally well.

Conclusion – If you’re in the market for a laptop that excels in both performance and productivity, I highly recommend this one. I have no regrets about my choice. Hope this helps!

Having upgraded from a MacBook Pro 13 (2015), my expectations were quite high, and this Asus laptop has truly met them!

    • The screen is fantastic. The 4K display is brighter and significantly sharper, with vibrant colors even without any calibration.
    • The CPU performance is impressive for an ultrabook, effortlessly handling daily tasks.
    • The keyboard is surprisingly good. It’s soft yet precise, with a bright backlight. The font on the silver keys could be clearer, but since I don’t look at the keyboard while typing, it’s not a major issue.
    • The touchpad is decent. It’s precise and quiet, though I immediately disabled the gimmicky touchscreen feature. Windows gestures work smoothly, and the size is just right—no complaints here.
    • The numeric keypad is a fantastic addition, especially since I work with numbers frequently. The slightly narrower keys are a smart design choice, keeping the laptop’s overall size manageable.
    • It’s incredibly quiet! Even with dual fans running under full load, there’s no annoying high-pitch noise like some other ultrabooks.
    • I haven’t noticed any coil whine either, which is a huge plus.
    • It has all the essential ports! I can’t stress enough how great it is to have everything available without needing dongles or complicated latches—USB-C alongside regular USB ports is perfect.
    • WiFi performance is blazing fast. Even though I don’t have a WiFi6 router, this laptop outperforms my MacBook Pro on my WiFi5 AC router. The bottleneck is my connection to the ISP, not the laptop’s WiFi card.
    • The discrete graphics (1650 Max-Q) in such a thin and light laptop is amazing! Sure, there are faster graphics options in bulkier machines, but this one balances mobility with decent gaming performance seamlessly.
    • The power adapter is impressively compact and lightweight, even smaller than I anticipated, making it ideal for travel.
    • Battery life is surprisingly good for a 4K screen, likely due to it being non-touch (which I prefer, coming from a non-touch MacBook Pro).

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this laptop—no major flaws. Some aspects could be improved, but none are deal-breakers. I would purchase it again and highly recommend it to friends looking for a feature-packed ultrabook at a great price.

On a side note, Amazon Prime delivery was exceptional: I ordered late Saturday night and received my laptop by 10:35 am on Sunday, despite the ongoing quarantine issues. Kudos to Amazon and the delivery team!

The hardware offered at this price point from a reputable brand like Asus is truly impressive. I’ve been an Asus customer for 12 years, but this is the first time I’ve felt let down, and I can’t help but wonder if it’s due to the Amazon version. I would suggest considering a different Asus Zenbook.

    Pros:

    1. The display is stunning. I was unsure about needing 4K on my laptop, but it does enhance the experience.
    2. The keyboard feels great. As a software developer, I find myself very productive using this machine.
    3. Initially, I found the number pad awkward, but I’ve grown accustomed to it, and now I miss it when I use other laptops.
    4. The metal chassis is a significant advantage. The overall design is excellent for remote work.
    5. The battery life is impressive, considering the computer’s power. I typically get around 8 hours. However, if you need longer battery life, avoid the glossy 4K display with a high-end graphics card.
    6. While I haven’t played any demanding games, it handles Minecraft and Rocket League without issues.
    7. Unlike some other reviews, I haven’t experienced any Wi-Fi problems.

    Cons:

    1. I quickly disabled the screenpad and haven’t found a compelling reason to reactivate it.
    2. The keyboard backlighting is poorly designed. The keys are unevenly lit (I even returned my first unit thinking it was defective due to many dark keys), and it looks awkward in low to mid-light conditions because of the white-on-silver contrast. When the screen brightness changes, it becomes difficult to see the keyboard lettering during certain lighting conditions.
    3. My touchpad had significant issues for several months following the July 2020 Windows update, which is unexpected from Asus.

Excellent product, worked flawlessly. The only downside is that it tends to heat up when the video card is in use, which is expected. Therefore, using a cooling base with a fan is essential.

A sleek and portable device with powerful performance, excellent for handling daily tasks and watching movies.
