Unfortunately, the gym itself didn’t impress us, and we stopped using it around four months old. It feels flimsy, and the hanging toys are quite underwhelming. Our baby never seemed very interested in them and even started to protest when we placed him in the gym.
If you decide to buy this product, focus on the piano and consider that you’re essentially paying for that. As other reviewers mentioned, the discovery mode plays animal names, numbers, colors, and animal sounds in English, Spanish, and French. If you want to control the language settings, it’s best to purchase it from a retail store.
We absolutely love the piano; it has grown with our child and keeps him engaged every day. He wasn’t coordinated enough to kick it while on the slippery mat, but he enjoyed watching the lights as a tiny baby with the piano in vertical mode, which helped him build core and neck strength. Once he started practicing sitting up, he loved propping himself on the floor with the piano in horizontal mode, just like a regular keyboard. We even attached it to the back of a chair and placed him in his bouncer so he could kick it.
Now that he’s pulling up, we removed the legs from the piano, and he plays with it on the floor or while standing against the couch. The piano remains on but only plays sounds when he touches it, so when he leaves and returns, it plays again. Unlike our other piano, which shuts off after a period of inactivity, this one is much more user-friendly. It allows him to press two keys simultaneously, producing both notes, which our other electronic piano doesn’t. The keys work through a sensor rather than being physical buttons; you can activate a note by hovering your hand just above a key.
Our only downside is that the ink on the front has rubbed off. However, for $30, which is the current sale price, the piano is definitely worth it. If you’re considering purchasing it, I would highly recommend it.
