I’m a male, 5’10”, medium build, and fit. I typically wear pants with a 32-34″ waist and a 32″ inseam. I grabbed these sweatpants in size MED to lounge and work out in cooler weather. When they first arrived, they were quite baggy, although the waist was comfortable, and the legs were about 3 inches too long (estimated 34-35″). After washing them in hot water and drying on high, they fit perfectly now, with the length aligning with the Champion size chart (31-32″). The legs are still loose but not excessively baggy, and the waistband remains comfortable. I haven’t encountered any issues with durability. I skipped the fabric softener, and while the jersey cotton isn’t as soft as fleece or blends, I would still consider purchasing them again. The fabric weight is just right—medium thickness—and I’m hopeful it will soften further with more washes.
For reference, I purchased the “steel grey,” which is 90% cotton. If you go for the “Heather” dark gray, it’s a 60/40 blend, so expect less shrinkage. I plan to get those in size small and see how they fit. The “Navy” version is 100% cotton, which also affects shrinkage—it’s important to note the material content for better results after washing.
UPDATE – 6/13/21: I received the SMALL 60/40 granite heather pants, and they fit as expected. They feel softer than the cotton versions, but the length measured about 33″ instead of the advertised 31″. After one wash and dry (hot), they still remain over 2 inches longer than I’d like. It seems Champion uses a standard length across all sizes. I’d recommend sticking with the cotton for better shrinkage; if you’re over 6ft, go for the poly blends to avoid excessive length. The photo shows how much I had to trim from the polyester version after trying to shrink them, and that was for the SMALL size!

These pants are a fantastic deal, but unless you’re around 7 feet tall, you won’t need a Large Tall size. My boyfriend is 6’1”, and they’re way too long—probably by about a foot! I might consider ordering a regular large instead.

I’ve purchased numerous pairs of casual pants for my kids (both almost 18), and most of them eventually developed wear and tear, leading to holes. However, these Champion pants have changed the game.
