Review of the Lenovo Legion 17” Armored Backpack: The Ultimate Gaming Laptop Bag
In today’s fast-paced digital age, having a reliable and stylish backpack to carry your tech gear is essential, especially for gamers and professionals alike. Enter the Lenovo Legion 17” Armored Backpack—a product that combines functionality, durability, and sleek design. With features tailored to meet the needs of gamers and tech enthusiasts, this backpack is a significant upgrade for anyone looking to protect and manage their devices.
Design and Build Quality
The Lenovo Legion Armored Backpack is not just another backpack; it is built with an ultra-tough, high-density EVA molded front shield, providing double-layered protection for your prized possessions. Measuring 14.18 x 19.9 x 7.09 inches and weighing 3.18 pounds, this backpack is designed to accommodate gaming laptops up to 17.3 inches. The rugged exterior, lined with water-resistant PU fabric, ensures that your gear stays safe from the elements, making it ideal for both outdoor adventures and daily commutes.
Aesthetically, the Legion backpack sports a sleek design that balances gaming performance with a professional appearance. The black carbon fiber accents give it a stylish edge that seamlessly fits into various environments, from gaming tournaments to business meetings.
Comfort and Ergonomics
Comfort is paramount when it comes to carrying heavy gear, and the Lenovo Legion excels in this aspect. The adjustable shoulder and chest straps are well-padded, allowing for extended periods of wear without causing discomfort. Additionally, back padding and ventilation ensure breathability, keeping you cool even when you’re on the go. One reviewer noted the “soft and breathable” padding against the back, which adds to the overall comfort level, making this backpack suitable for daily use or long travel days.
The sturdy grab handle at the top enhances portability, making it easy to maneuver in tight spaces or when boarding flights.
Organization and Storage
One of the standout features of the Lenovo Legion 17” Armored Backpack is its dedicated storage pockets. Reviewers have praised the thoughtful organization of the interior, which includes a padded compartment for your laptop, a dedicated area for a keyboard and palm rest, and separate pockets for your mouse, headphones, and even a water bottle. With a total capacity of 717 cubic inches, there’s ample space to organize your tech essentials efficiently.
The spacious main opening allows for easy access to all your items, while smaller compartments keep everything tidy. For those carrying multiple devices, such as a work laptop alongside gaming gear, this organization makes it easy to know where everything is stored. One user even mentioned being able to fit two laptop chargers at the bottom with plenty of room to spare.
Durability and Weather Resistance
Durability is a key consideration for any backpack, and the Lenovo Legion does not disappoint. The EVA front shield adds a layer of protection that is both rigid and resilient, ideal for safeguarding fragile items during travel. Users have reported that it withstands the rigors of daily use and travel, with one reviewer stating that it has kept their gear safe during various weather conditions, including rain.
While some users pointed out that the backpack is not lightweight, they also noted that the added weight corresponds to the durability and protection it offers, making it a worthwhile trade-off for serious gamers and professionals alike.
User Experiences and Feedback
The feedback from users has been overwhelmingly positive. Many have expressed their satisfaction with the quality and functionality of the backpack. One user, who owns multiple brands of backpacks, stated, “THIS BLOWS EVERY BACKPACK OUT OF THE WATER!!!!” They highlighted the comfort, organization, and secure protection that the Lenovo Legion offers, making it the best choice for their needs.
Another user, who had been hesitant to switch from their old backpack after ten years, praised the ergonomic design and how it improved their daily routine. They emphasized that the meticulously placed storage pouches make it a user-friendly option for anyone carrying multiple devices daily.
However, there are a few minor complaints. Some users wished for larger compartments, such as the padded iPad slot, to accommodate larger devices. But these concerns don’t overshadow the overall effectiveness and practicality of the backpack.
Conclusion
The Lenovo Legion 17” Armored Backpack is a fantastic investment for anyone needing a reliable, stylish, and highly functional backpack for their gaming laptops and accessories. Its unbeatable durability, smart organization, and unwavering comfort make it a top choice among users. Whether you are a gamer, a student, or a professional, this backpack meets and exceeds expectations.
Rating: 4.8/5 – Highly Recommended! The Lenovo Legion has successfully set a new standard for gaming laptop bags, making it a worthy addition to any tech enthusiast’s gear collection.

I primarily use this backpack to transport my work essentials to the office. My typical load includes a 16″ laptop with its power supply, a Logitech G502 mouse and mousepad, a TKL mechanical keyboard along with its USB-C cable, a Steelseries Arctis headset and its receiver, a water bottle, pens, notepads, and various small items.
The interior organization is excellent, featuring a padded compartment for the laptop in the innermost layer, designated pockets for the headset, mouse, and keyboard in the middle section, and a spacious outer layer with numerous loops and pockets for smaller items, plus a large general area for quick access.
Comfort is top-notch. The straps are well-padded and easily adjustable, while the padding on the part of the backpack that rests against your back is soft and breathable. The sturdy grab handle at the top feels secure, and the overall sleek design prevents snagging on anything. The combination of ample padding and a semi-rigid shell gives you confidence when handling it – it wears and travels exceptionally well.
After over a year of regular, heavy use, there are only a few scuffs on the shell, but the backpack still feels as good as new. My only minor complaint would be the somewhat tricky stowable water bottle pocket, but this hardly warrants deducting a star given the durability and thoughtful design of the rest of the backpack.
At this price point, or even higher, this backpack is an exceptional choice that’s definitely worth considering.

As a foreign student studying engineering, I decided to purchase this backpack for the protection it offers to my laptop and electronic devices during my 5-6 hour trips back home. I’ve traveled approximately once a month for nearly two years with this backpack, and I feel ready to share my comprehensive opinion on this model. (I haven’t needed to make any repairs to the backpack so far).
My laptop is a 2021 Huawei Matebook D16, and at that time, due to the chip shortage, there weren’t any affordable laptops with SSD and 16GB of RAM. The construction and sturdiness of this backpack are impressive. It’s not a lightweight backpack, and while it’s not perfect, there are many areas for improvement.

Areas for Improvement (Weaknesses):
I would definitely buy another one just like it if I needed to protect another laptop or required more space.

“INCREDIBLE!”
I’ve been using this backpack for three months now, and it’s absolutely worth every dollar.
I use it for school, and my 15″ MSI GP66 Leopard fits perfectly with extra room, thanks to the padded protection. I can easily fit my laptop, a large power brick charger, and my series controller with its case, along with other essentials like a mouse, headphones, power bank, and cables. Each item has its own dedicated compartment, keeping everything neatly arranged and easy to find.
The bag is thoughtfully designed, and the classy black with carbon fiber accents makes it a timeless choice. I’m in love with it!

UPDATE: I bought another backpack when it went on sale. I still stand by my original review.
I own a variety of backpacks from brands like Adidas, Columbia, and Marmot, and I carry two to work every day. THIS ONE OUTSHINES THEM ALL! For just $70, I hope they never discontinue this backpack because I plan to buy at least three more for future use.
The main laptop compartment features soft padding, and the back has thick padding that provides excellent protection between your body and the laptop. It’s incredibly secure and inspires confidence. It easily accommodates my MSI GE67HX without any issues and offers plenty of space. I do wish the padded iPad slot was a bit larger for versatility, as it could fit another laptop or larger tablet comfortably.
The main opening is spacious and includes a folder slit where I store my work laptop (an HP 360 or Asus G15). It fits two laptop chargers at the bottom with room to spare. I can also fit a 65% keyboard and case along with a Bluetooth mouse in the individual pockets. While I don’t use the headphone velcro strap, it’s a thoughtful addition. I use the pocket meant for headphones to keep items secure. You could also attach an accessory case for external drives or flash drives.
This backpack truly offers endless convenience options. The front slot has a cellphone pocket, three pen pockets, and a miscellaneous pocket for easy access. On the side facing away from you, there are two elastic pockets. I find cellphone pockets in backpacks unnecessary unless you have a work phone, so I use the facing pockets for hubs and the other for cords. I keep two accessory cases in the open area.
The room management is excellent, with numerous options and a sturdy design that maintains its shape whether it’s partially or fully filled. I could rave about this backpack forever. The price is unbeatable. If only the iPad slot could accommodate a larger tablet like the Microsoft Surface, it would be the cherry on top—as if I designed it myself.
Lenovo should invest more in this area because they have the right idea and everything needed in a well-designed bag. Their R&D department deserves an A++!

The quality and size are excellent for my 17-inch laptop. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely love it!

Perfect for my Legion Pro 7i, even though it’s a 16-inch model. The pockets are well-designed, it’s sturdy, and I find it quite stylish. It is bulky, but that’s to be expected.

It has a very unique design that oddly reminds me of the Cybertruck, haha! Overall, it’s a well-constructed bag with plenty of space for a mouse, keyboard, and laptop. If you’re buying it for that purpose, I definitely recommend it. However, if you’re looking to store a variety of items not specific to that niche, you might be disappointed, as it’s somewhat flat and not suitable for wider items like clothing and such.

This book bag is fantastic at carrying all my items. It’s durable and made of high-quality materials.

I was initially unsure about buying a new backpack for my devices, especially since I had been using the same one for a decade until it finally fell apart. I wanted something with solid build quality that wouldn’t break the bank, and I found it! I love the ergonomics and the ample storage. The compartments and the layout inside are thoughtfully designed with the user in mind. I received it today and immediately took it with me on my usual errands. It’s absolutely fantastic! I can easily fit my 16” gaming laptop, Lenovo Go, and a portable charging station, making everything feel more organized. My only minor issue is that it didn’t come in a fancy box; it was just wrapped in plastic. But honestly, that’s not a big deal.
