Recommendations for Switching
Purina recommends a gradual transition to this new food over 7 to 10 days. This helps to prevent any dietary upsets that could arise from sudden changes. Pet owners are advised to mix increasing amounts of Pro Plan with decreasing amounts of the previous food until the switch is complete.

We have two rescue dogs, both of whom came to us with sensitive stomachs and digestive issues. Finding the right food was a challenge until we found Purina ONE Sensitive Stomach Dog Food. This product has truly transformed our lives!
Our dogs absolutely love the flavor, and since switching to this formula, their digestive problems have greatly improved. We’ve seen fewer stomach troubles, healthier stools, and their coats are shinier and softer than ever. It’s evident that they are thriving on this food.
The option to subscribe for monthly deliveries on Amazon is a fantastic benefit. We no longer have to worry about running out, and it saves us an errand. The packaging always arrives in perfect condition, and the subscription price is very reasonable.
We couldn’t be more pleased with our decision for our pups. If your dogs have sensitive stomachs, I highly recommend trying this food. It has made a significant difference for us and our furry companions!

When I first brought my Australian Shepherd puppy to the vet, I asked her about Purina Pro Plan since it was frequently recommended by breeders and fellow dog owners in my social media group. To my surprise, she shared that she has two Australian Shepherds herself and noted that Purina is one of the few dog food brands that involve veterinarians in their product development. This greatly reassured me about my choice. Fast forward two years, and I’ve seen a remarkable improvement in my dog’s itchy skin, not to mention his coat is incredibly shiny. I’ve set up automated shipments and have no intention of switching brands anytime soon. I highly recommend Purina Pro Plan for anyone in search of high-quality dog food.

Our Mini Poodle (6 years old) and Bichon Frise – Shih Tzu (11 years old) have been enjoying both the wet and dry versions of this food for over 3 years and are in excellent health (they’re a bit pudgy in the pictures due to their winter grooming). We recently adopted a French Bulldog (3.5 years old) who was used to free-feeding, and aside from a bit of gas, she’s doing well after 6 months on this diet. While I can’t comment on the taste myself, I know it offers great nutrients and ingredients. Our vet fully approves, it’s budget-friendly, and our dogs love it!

Health Benefits: Since making the switch to Purina Pro Plan, I’ve observed notable improvements in my dog’s coat and energy levels. They seem more active, and their fur appears shinier and healthier.
Taste: My dog absolutely loves the flavor of Purina Pro Plan. They eagerly finish their meals, and I haven’t encountered any pickiness.
Digestibility: The food is gentle on my dog’s stomach. My female dog has experienced fewer digestive issues, and her stools are firm and consistent.
Variety: Purina Pro Plan provides a wide range of formulas to cater to different dietary needs, making it easy to find the ideal option for your dog.
Value for Money: Considering the quality and benefits, Purina Pro Plan offers good value for the price. While it is slightly more expensive than some other brands, the health benefits are definitely worth it.
In conclusion, Purina Pro Plan has been an excellent choice for my dogs. The high-quality ingredients, visible health improvements, and great taste make it a product I highly recommend to fellow dog owners.

After discovering that my dog has acid reflux and a sensitive stomach, I was constantly searching for a new food each month, as he would link his nausea to the food and refuse to eat. I initially had him on Purina EN, a prescription diet that was gentler on his stomach. He enjoyed it, but it was quite pricey. I decided to try this alternative, and he has been happily eating it for months without any problems.

I’ve been using this product for years. It works well for my dog’s stomach, but it is on the pricey side.

Promoted as healthy and easy to digest. The odor isn’t pleasant, but my dogs absolutely love it. I’ve never encountered any problems with it.

I wanted to take some time before writing this review to see if this product would truly make a difference. My French Bulldog, Maelee, had been struggling with food allergies for the past couple of years. We visited the vet multiple times, and she was prescribed antibiotics and ear drops for maintenance to prevent recurring ear infections.
After doing some research, I discovered that these persistent ear infections could be linked to food allergies or intolerances. I tried switching her food a few times, moving away from chicken and varying the protein sources, but I didn’t see any improvement until I switched to this specific food. Although it’s not a typical limited ingredient diet, it is a specialty option that turned out to be more affordable than some alternatives, yet still pricier than Purina Beneful or Purina One SmartBlend.
Initially, I started with Beneful, then moved to Purina One SmartBlend with chicken, and later tried lamb, which triggered her allergic reactions. Maelee would shake her head, scratch her ears, bite her feet, and rub against furniture, clearly distressed. It broke my heart to see her scratching scabs in her ears; I couldn’t let her suffer any longer. While our vet didn’t suggest allergies during our visits, I took it upon myself to research the issue. (No offense to our vet, who is fantastic!)
If your dog is dealing with allergies, I highly recommend trying this food. Although it might be a bit pricey, the benefits for your dog’s happiness and health are well worth it. Since we switched her food, Maelee has stopped itching and biting her feet, and we’ve even been able to discontinue the maintenance ear drops from the vet. I couldn’t be happier! The quality of life for a dog with allergies must be miserable, and I was willing to try anything to help her feel normal again.
Around the same time we switched to this food, we also began giving her Zippy Paws Aller-Immune chews, which I still continue to give her. Some reviewers mentioned finding bugs in this dog food, but I found none in my bag, and salmon is the first ingredient. The ingredient list is much more appealing compared to other brands in this category.
I wholeheartedly recommend this dog food and will keep paying for it each month to ensure my dog doesn’t suffer from itchy skin and ear infections. If you’re hesitant due to negative reviews about bugs, I thoroughly inspected my bag and found absolutely NO BUGS! Plus, Purina has excellent quality control, and I trust this brand.
UPDATE 09/27/2022
Maelee has had to return to using maintenance ear drops from the vet. Fortunately, it’s now a call-in prescription, so we don’t need an exam every time. I believe this is due to environmental allergies, in addition to her protein sensitivity. This food continues to work well for her. When the ear infection returned, we tried Hills prescription diet d/d salmon formula from the vet, which was significantly more expensive, but it didn’t improve her ear condition, so we switched back to this food. I’m still very satisfied with it and know it has helped her allergies. Unfortunately, environmental allergies have limited options, and we rely on allergy medication from the vet. We try to limit her treats and stick to single ingredient freeze-dried salmon. She means the world to me, and I’d do anything for her. I hope this helps other dogs with food sensitivities feel better too!
