The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery has been an excellent enhancement to my home security system! The installation process was quick and straightforward, and I appreciate its flexibility for indoor and outdoor use. The HD video quality is impressive, and the customizable privacy settings provide peace of mind regarding my data security. It integrates effortlessly with Alexa, allowing me to keep an eye on my home while I work remotely. I highly recommend this camera for anyone seeking a dependable and stylish security option!

This wired outdoor stickup camera delivers excellent video quality, including impressive night vision. The motion detection is highly effective, and the sound quality is good. WiFi connectivity remains stable, and accessing videos through the Ring app, including live view, is straightforward. The setup process is simple, and the provided power cable extension is long enough to connect to an outlet. While a Ring Protect plan is required for accessing historical videos, the cost is reasonable and covers all your Ring cameras and doorbells. I appreciate not having to worry about battery life since it’s wired.

These cameras have demonstrated their value for security around my property and on my RV while I’m away. The battery system combined with a solar panel provides an extra layer of protection.

This is my third Ring camera, and each one is uniquely suited to my needs! It’s absolutely perfect for what I’m looking for.

Performs exceptionally well. I’ve been able to replace my Swann cameras and dispose of them.

The product is incredibly user-friendly, and the app is fantastic and straightforward to navigate. However, the battery life is disappointing. Even with the recommended settings, it drains much quicker than advertised. It loses about 10% overnight while just sitting in the box, not even being used. After fully charging the new battery and placing it in the camera, it had already dropped by 2%. I’m not at all impressed with this aspect.

I previously had a more advanced security camera system for my home’s exterior, but I decided to try one of these cameras indoors since I already have a Ring alarm system and a Ring Doorbell. I mistakenly assumed there would be some level of integration with other Ring products, but I was wrong—there is none at all.

It seems logical that these devices would work together in some capacity. I thought I could set the cameras to only detect motion when the alarm was armed, but that’s not an option. I also expected to be able to configure them to sense motion only when I was away from home, but there’s no way to determine if anyone is home or not—these cameras lack any location awareness. I should have anticipated this since the Ring alarm system doesn’t have that feature either.

I also assumed that if my Ring alarm was triggered, the cameras would start recording automatically. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The only motion setting allows you to mute alerts during specific hours, but it doesn’t stop the camera from detecting motion during that time. Motion detection can only be toggled on or off, with no other options available.

Despite my frustration with the lack of integration, I mounted the camera in my great room to see how long the battery would last with motion recording activated. Given that this is a high-traffic area, I had low expectations, and sure enough, after less than one day, the battery dropped to 80%, even with all the ‘battery saving options’ enabled. I only wanted to test it because I don’t want any recording happening in my home unless the alarm is armed.

With no options available and no integration with the Ring alarm, the camera is essentially only useful for on-demand video without automatic recording. So now it’s turned off, serving no purpose, although I can still activate it from my phone to check on my home occasionally.

It’s disappointing because the camera’s build quality is impressive for the price, and the video quality is decent, though the audio is lacking, which is typical for cameras.

    UPDATE
Ring support contacted me shortly after I posted my review (kudos to them!) and explained how to link the camera to the alarm. You need to access your Base Station settings, then linked devices, and you can configure the cameras to record when the alarm is triggered—just be sure to have the updated app. This addressed my main concern with the camera, though my other points about the lack of features still stand. I hope they add more necessary functionalities soon.

    ANOTHER UPDATE
According to Ring Support, the Modes feature will be available in November, allowing you to set the cameras to record motion only when the Ring Alarm System is in Away Mode. This is a significant upcoming update that should have been included from the start. I suspect they have been motivated to make these improvements following negative feedback, but I’m glad it’s on the way.

    ONE MORE UPDATE
Ring has given me early access to the ‘Modes Feature,’ and I’ve been using it for a few days now. It resolves all my previous concerns regarding alarm integration. With this feature, you can choose when your cameras record based on the alarm’s status. Each camera can be set independently to behave differently depending on whether the alarm is off, in home mode, or in away mode. For example, you can have exterior cameras record in home mode while keeping interior cameras off, or vice versa. The ability to customize settings for each camera is a fantastic improvement. They haven’t specified when this feature will be publicly available, but they mentioned it would be released by the end of the year.

I’ve raised my rating from 3 stars to 5. The software update has resolved every issue I had, and I’ve now ordered and installed six additional cameras for my home.

    LAST UPDATE
After using the modes feature, my cameras only activate and record during alarm events (which are infrequent). I’ve monitored the battery life over the past two months, and all my cameras were below 10% battery when I checked last night. I expected them to last about three months, so getting over two months isn’t bad. I have two outdoor cameras at my entry gates equipped with solar panels, which stay fully charged even during the cloudy weather we’ve had since their installation. These cameras record all motion, capturing numerous events daily. If you’re considering solar panels for outdoor use, I highly recommend them.

This is one of the best cameras I’ve ever purchased! It’s user-friendly and straightforward to set up, plus it delivers excellent video quality!

Living on the ground floor with a balcony, we wanted a way to keep an eye on our outdoor space, and this camera was the perfect solution! I’m thrilled with my purchase. The image quality of this affordable camera is surprisingly impressive. The attached photos were taken around 2:30 AM using night vision in complete darkness, and the clarity is outstanding. To conserve battery, I don’t use the color mode at night, which has proven effective—the battery is still at 91% after 20 days! During the day, the picture is crystal clear, showcasing true colors and fine details without any problems. The sound detection and recording quality are excellent too.

I appreciate the variety of features and scheduling options for alerts, and the setup process was incredibly straightforward. Although I opted for a different mount approved by my building, connecting it was a breeze. The motion detection works quickly and accurately; alerts reach my phone within seconds of being triggered, allowing me to access the live video feed effortlessly. The camera handles rain well, as our upstairs balcony has slats that let water through, and there have been no issues with wetness.

It took about 10 hours to fully charge upon arrival, which seems to be a common timeframe. I plan to buy a backup battery to ensure I’m always prepared. The app is user-friendly, and I’ll definitely continue with the Ring cloud plan after the 30-day free trial. I believe our peace of mind is priceless, and the ability to store and share videos and images is invaluable. Recently, we resolved a neighborhood issue thanks to footage captured by a neighbor’s Ring doorbell, which they shared with management. That’s why I chose Ring, and I’m glad I did. Having this camera along with the doorbell has been fantastic so far!
