Replacement Review – July 2024: I ordered the same fridge in blue this time. The delivery was timely, but the fridge arrived upside down. This model is different from my previous one, but the changes don’t affect its functionality for my needs.
Even though the 2024 blue fridge isn’t what I expected, it should still work well for storing my meds. If children were using it, I’d prefer the wire shelving, as plastic can break too easily. I bought trays to secure my meds in the door because they slipped under the wire shelves. I like both the red and blue colors of these fridges.
Update – April 2024: I gave this fridge away when I moved, advertising it as not working, but it worked perfectly when the new owner plugged it in. It seems the issue was with my apartment’s electrical system, so I’m bumping my rating back up to five stars.
Edit – December 2023: It’s now dead after 2.5 years of use.
Edit – February 2022: I received this fridge in June 2021, and as of February 2022, my lovely red refrigerator is still performing excellently!
I bought this fridge to keep my refrigerated meds cool without taking up space in my main fridge or absorbing food odors. It can hold one 2-quart bottle or two 1-quart bottles in the door, but not a 3-quart bottle, which fits lying down on the middle shelf. I don’t store beverage cans, so I can’t comment on that.
My thermometer confirms that this fridge keeps temperatures in the normal refrigerated range, which is crucial for my meds.
Several reviews mention exterior scratches, but this was resolved by removing the thin protective film. Problem solved!
Keep in mind, this fridge is NOT frost-free, so plan to defrost every 4 to 6 weeks. Just remove items, place kitchen towels on the top shelf, unplug for an hour or two, wipe down the interior and freezer drip tray, then plug it back in and return items.
I don’t use the freezer section, and I chose not to install the bottle opener. I usually open the fridge using the molded finger indentations on the door, so I can’t comment on the handle’s durability, but it does match the classic Frigidaire style.
Delivery was earlier than expected, and I had to rush to get someone to help bring it inside since it arrived while I was out of town. I selected the slowest delivery option, so this was an Amazon issue, not the manufacturer’s or seller’s.
I would definitely buy this fridge again for myself or as a gift!

This fridge is compact and beautifully designed. I absolutely love the color, and it cools down quickly while keeping everything nice and cold. The small freezer compartment is also very effective. I have it in my office, and I receive compliments on it almost daily. It’s silent and of excellent quality.
The only downside is the handle; it’s made of plastic and broke off the third time someone opened the fridge. It now feels more like a novelty item, and the broken handle detracts from its appearance. : (

UPDATE Since my initial review, the Curtis International Support Team has kept me stuck in a lengthy 26-message email thread, repeatedly asking for more information to process my warranty request. I’ve sent over 20 photos of my now “field destroyed” fridge—an amusing ordeal in itself, as we had to cut all the wires, shred the manufacturing tags, remove all product detail stickers, and scratch off the serial number while documenting the process. Despite all this, I still don’t have confirmation on the warranty replacement. Instead of asking for everything I need to provide at once, they send new requests week after week, which is incredibly unprofessional. Their response time is at least 5 days, and at this rate, I fear this will drag on until September, leaving me without warranty coverage.
Here’s the gist of my experience: The refrigerator was nearly a month late, arrived heavily damaged due to shipping, and the replacement unit suffered a compressor failure within just 5 months, making it completely unusable. Getting help from the manufacturer for the warranty situation has been a struggle.
Did Amazon attempt to resolve the issue by sending a replacement for the damaged fridge? Yes. However, neither Amazon, Frigidaire, nor Curtis International provided me with the factory warranty information in a timely manner.
When I placed my order on September 27, 2022, it was supposed to arrive 4 days later on October 1, 2022, as a Prime eligible item. Instead, I received multiple emails stating that my delivery was “indefinitely late.” After weeks of waiting, I finally received the fridge, but it arrived in a severely damaged box with gashes and dents. Naturally, the fridge itself was also damaged, covered in dents and scratches. I contacted Amazon, who directed me to Frigidaire for a replacement. I returned the damaged unit to Amazon, which they handled without issue.
A week later, my replacement fridge arrived in good condition. I plugged it in, stocked it up, and everything was fine until late April when I noticed a large puddle of water beneath it. Upon inspection, I found the freezer had completely melted, and the fridge was at room temperature. I use it 2-3 times a week, so this was not due to normal wear and tear.
I reached out to Amazon again, who referred me back to Frigidaire. However, they claimed they didn’t manufacture this particular fridge and couldn’t assist me, which led to a frustrating cycle of phone and email exchanges.
Frigidaire directed me to Curtis International, who produces this specific model. They then insisted I needed to speak to Frigidaire, cutting me off as I tried to explain I had already done so. They attempted to transfer me to a department that could not help, and after multiple transfers, I finally reached someone who could file a support claim.
Two weeks later, Curtis emailed asking for clear photos of the damaged area (which is quite difficult to capture when the fridge is just room temperature) and a photo of my receipt from Amazon. I sent screenshots of both my original and replacement invoices. When I asked if that was sufficient, their support team suggested I contact Amazon for my concerns, stating they don’t handle those matters.
I feel trapped in an endless loop. Today, I called Curtis Support for the fifth time. After 30 minutes on hold, the agent asked for my claim number, then left me on hold for another 20 minutes before the call abruptly ended. I called back, went through the same process, and when I called a third time, I requested not to be put on hold. The agent told me to resend my invoice and be patient, despite me pointing out that I had already done this and showed her their previous responses.
I have run out of patience. Nearly 2 months have gone by, and I’m still waiting for clarity on the factory warranty for this fridge. I spent so much time on hold that I managed to write this review to warn potential buyers of the headaches I’ve experienced.
For the love of all that is holy, please save your money and choose a different make or model. If you buy this one and encounter issues, you’re in for a real nightmare.

I purchased this for my granddaughter for Christmas, and it’s just the right size for her needs. The only drawback is that it claims to hold 12 cans, but it doesn’t quite manage that. You can fit 12 cans if you remove the small shelf, but they take a long time to chill since there’s no air circulation when it’s packed. However, she’s perfectly content with putting in just 6 cans at a time. Ultimately, she loves it, and that’s what counts!
