In-Depth Review of the Bissell Cleanview XR Pet 300W Cordless Vacuum (Model 3797V)
The Bissell Cleanview XR Pet 300W Cordless Vacuum is a versatile cleaning solution designed to tackle the unique challenges pet owners face. With a host of features that enhance usability, performance, and convenience, this vacuum aims to provide an effective cleaning experience while being lightweight and easy to maneuver. In this review, we will explore the design, functionality, and overall performance of this vacuum cleaner, based on user feedback and technical specifications.
Design and Build Quality
Lightweight Form Factor
One of the standout features of the Bissell Cleanview XR Pet is its lightweight design, weighing only 5.9 pounds. This makes it incredibly easy to carry around the house, allowing users to clean multiple rooms without the fatigue that heavier vacuums can cause. The stick vacuum form factor is particularly appealing for quick clean-ups, and users have noted its maneuverability around furniture and tight spaces.
Color and Aesthetics
The vacuum’s vibrant purple color not only makes it visually appealing but also adds a touch of personality to an otherwise utilitarian device. The sleek design is complemented by a wall mount for convenient storage, making it a practical choice for those with limited storage space.
Performance
Suction Power
Equipped with a 300-watt motor, the Cleanview XR Pet boasts 60% more power than its closest competitor, the Shark IX141. Users have reported that this vacuum excels at picking up dirt, dust, and pet hair on various surfaces, including carpets, hard floors, and upholstery. The deep cleaning fur brush attachment is particularly effective for removing stubborn pet hair from furniture and car interiors.
Runtime and Battery Life
The vacuum features a removable 24V MAX lithium-ion battery that provides up to 40 minutes of cordless cleaning time. However, several users have noted that this runtime can vary significantly based on the power level used. On high power mode, the vacuum tends to last only 10-15 minutes, which may be insufficient for larger homes. Additionally, the need to remove the battery for charging has been criticized, as it can be cumbersome. A second battery is recommended for those needing extended cleaning sessions.
Usability
Attachments and Versatility
The Bissell Cleanview XR Pet comes with a variety of attachments, including a deep cleaning fur brush, dusting brush, and crevice tool. These accessories enhance its versatility, making it suitable for cleaning different surfaces such as carpets, hardwood floors, and tight spaces. Users have particularly appreciated the ability to convert it into a hand vacuum, making it ideal for quick clean-ups of small messes.
Ease of Maintenance
Cleaning the vacuum is a simple task, as the dustbin empties easily, and the foam filter can be washed and reused. Many users find this feature convenient, as it minimizes the hassle of maintaining the vacuum.
Noise Level
Another point of praise is the relatively quiet operation of the Cleanview XR Pet compared to traditional vacuums. This feature has been appreciated by users who prefer a quieter cleaning experience, particularly in households with pets and children.
User Feedback and Ratings
Positive Experiences
- Versatile and Lightweight: Users have praised the vacuum for its lightweight design and effectiveness on various floors, including hard surfaces and carpets.
- Powerful Attachments: The deep cleaning fur brush has received high marks for its ability to tackle pet hair, making it a great choice for pet owners.
- Convenient Storage: The included wall mount and easy-to-empty dustbin add to the overall user satisfaction.
Areas for Improvement
- Battery Life: The short runtime on high power mode has been a common concern, with many users wishing for a longer-lasting battery or the option to charge without removing it.
- Power Mode Default: Users have expressed frustration that the vacuum defaults to medium power each time it is turned on, rather than remembering the last power setting used.
- Dustbin Capacity: With a capacity of only 0.3 liters, frequent emptying may be necessary, especially in homes with pets or heavy foot traffic.
Overall Rating and Conclusion
The Bissell Cleanview XR Pet 300W Cordless Vacuum is a fantastic option for those seeking a lightweight, versatile, and user-friendly cleaning solution. While it boasts powerful suction and a variety of attachments, the limitations in battery life and dustbin capacity can detract from its overall performance.
Overall Rating: 4.1 out of 5
This rating reflects a balance of its many strengths, particularly for pet owners, against its minor drawbacks. For anyone in search of a reliable vacuum that offers convenience and effective cleaning, the Bissell Cleanview XR Pet is a strong contender worth considering.

Terrible product. I do not recommend buying it.

This vacuum is very lightweight, assembles easily, and has the power I need. The only thing I didn’t consider is that the cord is not very long, but it doesn’t cause me much trouble.

My wife typically doesn’t vacuum, but as her husband, I usually handle it. However, she has started using this vacuum because she finds it incredibly easy to maneuver thanks to its lightweight design and bagless feature.

I really like the concept of this vacuum’s size and function, but I’m disappointed with its performance. The need to remove the battery for charging is a major drawback, and the battery life is lacking. The wall mount is okay, but it’s poorly designed that you have to remove the battery every time to charge it. Imagine a power tool with interchangeable batteries that requires you to take out the battery to recharge. Typically, you’d expect longer battery life from such devices, and the option for multiple batteries to swap out. Unfortunately, this Bissell unit only comes with one battery that lasts less than 20 minutes on “high” mode, which is often necessary for effective cleaning. It defaults to the medium setting each time you turn it on.
Cleaning the kitchen and dining area was manageable, and I could usually get it done on medium or high power, but if I forget to charge the battery, I can’t clean the same area again without it dying. Additionally, emptying the canister to dispose of debris feels a bit awkward—it’s not terrible, just a bit clunky.
At around $150, it’s decent, but after using it, I feel I should either invest more for a better design or go for a cheaper option that meets my expectations. In this mid-range price category, I expected more.

After searching and researching various options, I came across this vacuum and decided to order it. With all hardwood floors and a few area rugs, I didn’t need anything elaborate. This vacuum is fantastic—it’s lightweight, affordable, and compact. It works well on carpets too. I removed the handle and used the handheld vacuum with the attachment for floor cleaning, and it performs beautifully. Even my son enjoys using it; it’s so light that he can vacuum the entire house with ease.

I just used this vacuum for the first time today, and it’s the best one I’ve ever had. I have hardwood, linoleum, and carpeted floors, and it performs excellently on all surfaces. I’m confident it picked up dirt and dog hair that my previous vacuums missed. I have long hair that tends to “shed,” and it used to get tangled around the roller. After vacuuming my entire home today, I was pleased to find no hair on the roller at all. With three medium to large dogs, it does a fantastic job of collecting their hair as well. Plus, I appreciate that Bissell contributes to pet rescue efforts! I highly recommend this vacuum and would definitely buy it again.

I am impressed with how effectively this vacuum captures dust and dander. My carpets look just as clean as they do with a larger, heavier vacuum, but this one is lighter and much easier to maneuver between rooms without needing to find another outlet. I enjoy using the turbo mode, especially since I have a mix of bare floors and area rugs with different pile heights. The battery lasts about 10 minutes (covering around 500 square feet) in turbo mode, which is perfect for my needs. If you need to clean a larger area before recharging (which takes a few hours), I suggest getting an extra battery for easy swapping. The dustbin is easy to empty, and I appreciate the variety of tools included. Overall, it’s a fantastic value.

This vacuum is incredibly lightweight and easy to handle. Its narrow head easily fits between furniture, and it doesn’t blow air out the sides, which means it won’t scatter dust while cleaning. It picks up pet hair from hard floors exceptionally well! Plus, without a roller, there are no tangles to worry about. The cord length is just right for cleaning a room at a time, which I appreciate since long cords can be cumbersome and get tangled. If you have pets that shed fluffy hair all over the place and need a solution for hard floors, this vacuum is perfect! I highly recommend it for anyone with hard floors.

I’ve been using these vacuums for over 30 years, and nothing has proven to be better for my needs—removing crumbs and small debris from floors, carpets, and furniture. While it doesn’t deep clean carpets like a full-sized vacuum, it’s lightweight and far easier to handle for everyday messes. It’s simple to empty, and I can just rinse the filter with water, which dries by my next use. When my older Featherweight eventually cracked, I explored other options, hoping to find a fancier model with higher ratings. However, the more elaborate vacuum was bulky and didn’t perform any better, so I returned it and purchased the latest version of the Featherweight. I’m thrilled to say it works even better than my previous one! The cord is thicker, it has increased suction, and the plastic feels more durable than my older model.

Don’t let the size fool you! I have the Symphony, but honestly, I’ve been using this model more because it seems to clean better, especially on hard floors, and it’s so much lighter, which I love. The cord isn’t very long, but that’s fine for me since I have plenty of outlets. I’ve been using it for four months now, and everything is perfect. I use it every other day for my four rooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen, and so far, it’s been my favorite purchase!

This vacuum is quite impressive for its size. It’s simple to assemble and operate, with strong suction that effectively lifts pet hair. The LED headlights are a fantastic feature, illuminating debris on my hardwood floors that I might otherwise miss. Cleaning it out is straightforward, although the dirt cup is on the smaller side. I appreciate the ease of switching tools with the click-on and off mechanism. It performs well on both carpet and hardwood surfaces.
However, there are a few areas for improvement. The battery life is not very long, and recharging takes quite a while. While they claim a 40-minute runtime, that must be on low power—I find mine lasts only about 10-15 minutes on high. I also dislike the gun-style trigger for powering it on and off; since it’s the only handle, I often accidentally bump the trigger and turn it off. A traditional on/off button on the side would be more user-friendly. Additionally, it has three power settings: low, medium, and high. I always use high, but if I accidentally shut it off, it resets to medium when I turn it back on.
Despite these drawbacks, I’m still pleased with this little vacuum.

This product performs well, is user-friendly, and is pleasantly lightweight. It’s perfect for my small apartment. While it struggles with larger debris, it handles hair and dirt effortlessly. Excellent value for the price!
