Honestly, when we first ordered this product, my expectations were low. This was largely due to our experience with the first robot vacuum we purchased (EUFY) about seven years ago, which was a basic model that performed poorly. It would often get confused by the smallest obstacles and got stuck frequently, leading us to stop using it after a few months.
However, with the Roborock, it’s an entirely different experience! Unpacking and setting it up was a breeze. I initiated the Quick Mapping feature to let it recognize each room. I did need to utilize the “divide” function to break up some large areas identified during mapping. Once that was done, I named the rooms, added some furniture, and specified the floor types.
The vacuuming process across all rooms went off without a hitch. During the initial vacuuming phase, it fine-tuned the room layouts from the Quick Mapping. The only assistance I provided was using my foot to prevent it from going under a dresser or bed, which it remembered in future sessions. I was genuinely impressed watching it navigate so effectively, hugging the edges and doing an outstanding job of cleaning every floor type. I also appreciated how it switched to a more powerful mode on carpet and slowed down on tile.
One of the main features we were looking for in a new vacuum was the ability to clean in a straight pattern. This is much more efficient than the EUFY, which zig-zagged haphazardly. The Roborock navigates around the perimeter of a room and then moves back and forth across the rest of the space. Even as someone who’s retired, I found it quite enjoyable to watch it perform so well.
It also integrates seamlessly with Alexa, which is an additional bonus!
We are absolutely thrilled with this purchase and give it our highest recommendation! The only remaining feature to test is the mopping, and we’ll update our review to reflect that. This has been the best money we’ve spent in a long time.

If you’re on the fence about purchasing this vacuum, just go for it. It’s absolutely worth it. My wife and I previously owned a lower-end model from another brand and were quite disappointed. It would bounce around the rooms trying its best, but often got stuck, leaving us to search for it around the house. While it was nice when it worked, that wasn’t very often. We decided it wasn’t worth the trouble and considered giving up on robot vacuums entirely. Then we stumbled upon a glowing YouTube review of this vacuum, which had minimal drawbacks. The positive things we heard about this vacuum are absolutely true. It performs all the tasks we need it to without requiring much from us—just emptying its container every day or two. The only feature that would make it perfect is if it could empty itself, but aside from that, it does everything.
Equipped with a lidar (laser) scanner for room mapping and navigation, this vacuum is a game changer. You can command it via your digital assistant or the app to clean specific rooms or even targeted areas between them. You can set a schedule for it to vacuum in a certain sequence on designated days, offering incredible flexibility. Once it maps the house, it efficiently navigates directly to its destination instead of wandering aimlessly. It cleans in a Z-pattern, which saves both time and battery life. It reliably finds its way back to the dock, likely 99.99% of the time. When the battery is low, it remembers where it left off, goes to recharge, and resumes cleaning. It’s impressively smart.
We have both dogs and cats, which means a lot of pet hair. Our previous robot vacuum always got its rollers tangled with hair, which was tedious to clean. However, this vacuum features roller technology that avoids that issue; we’ve only had to clean the roller a few times, and rarely due to pet hair. Plus, it has a washable air filter!
This vacuum is fantastic, and my wife and I have never regretted our decision to buy it. For our needs, it’s outstanding in every aspect.
