I bought this product on my dermatologist’s advice and have been taking it consistently for over two years. Unfortunately, I haven’t noticed any difference in my hair, and it’s quite expensive. I’m still using it “just in case” it’s providing some benefits that aren’t visible. I know it sounds odd, but when dealing with hair loss, you tend to try anything that might help. I honestly didn’t expect this product to help with hair regrowth, but feeling desperate, I decided to give it a shot. After turning 60 this year, I noticed my hair thinning and my hairline receding, and I thought nothing could combat age-related hair loss. With nothing to lose (except possibly more hair), I tried Nutrafol.
I’ve been using it for six weeks now, and alongside it, I’ve incorporated rosemary oil, as some studies suggest it can be just as effective as Minoxidil for hair regrowth. I mix three teaspoons of almond oil with 12 drops of rosemary oil and apply it to the thinning areas of my scalp three times a week. I’ve also increased my protein intake and consistently take the recommended four capsules of Nutrafol daily.
To my surprise, after six weeks, I’ve noticed over 1/4 inch of new hair growth in areas where my hairline had receded, including a spot that was nearly bald. Interestingly, the new hair is a darker shade than my previous blonde, which has mostly turned white and gray in recent years. I’m not sure why it’s darker, but I’m not complaining! Not only is the new growth over 1/4 inch long, but it also seems to be filling in with a lot of new strands.
Given my initial skepticism, I’m genuinely amazed by this progress and extremely pleased! I highly recommend this product!

Update I’ve finished my first bottle and just ordered my second. The new growth hairs are now an inch long! Previously, I would lose a handful of hair every time I washed it, but shedding has significantly decreased. I’m seeing baby hairs sprouting everywhere I part my hair. I’m so relieved to see improvement and new growth. I continue using rosemary oil at night, massaging my scalp, taking protein and collagen supplements, and fish oil. I’ve switched to a shampoo with rosemary oil as well. I believe it’s been a combination of all these products working together. Whatever it is, it’s definitely working!
Update with pictures I’ve completed four months of using this product, and my fifth bottle is on the way. I no longer keep my hair pulled back, and the almost bald spot at the back of my head has vanished. Any lighter areas are just grays because I’m two weeks post-color and my hair grows quickly. I’m beyond thrilled with the results. My issue was hormonal, and this product seems to block the hormone that restricts blood supply to the follicles. Happy and grateful to be a 64-year-old with revitalized hair!

I really regret not researching before spending so much on these supplements. By the second day, I experienced nausea, breathlessness, dizziness, and bloating. Even after reducing the dosage by half on day three, the symptoms returned. Concerned about how I felt, I checked the individual dosages and was shocked to see they far exceeded the recommended daily allowance, posing potential harm. Please take the time to understand the risks of overdosing on vitamin A and similar nutrients; exercise caution!

I had heard that taking the full dosage of 4 capsules could lead to a terrible taste and stomach issues, so I decided to start with half the dose (2 per day) to see how I would react. The first two weeks went smoothly. However, during week three, I faced a dilemma. I started experiencing daily gas and cramps. On the bright side, I also noticed significant hair thickening and growth, which encouraged me to stick with the 2 capsules a day. I thought that if the cramps subsided, the results would be fantastic and I’d get two months’ worth from a single supply.
Unfortunately, the gas and cramps did not improve, and by week four, I also added constipation to the mix. When it became a constant source of discomfort, I had to skip the capsules for today. Once I feel better and the symptoms ease, I plan to try taking them at a different time of day to see if that helps with the digestive issues—or if I need to stop altogether.
I’ll provide an update on how that goes. While the product is delivering the results I hoped for, I’m giving it three stars for now because the side effects may not be suitable for everyone.
