The AVAPOW 6000A Car Battery Jump Starter has created quite the buzz among car owners and outdoor enthusiasts alike. With its powerful performance, smart safety features, and additional functionalities, this jump starter is positioned as a reliable companion for any vehicle. Let’s dive into the features, benefits, drawbacks, and user experiences to provide a well-rounded review.
Features and Specifications
Powerful Performance
The AVAPOW A68 model boasts a staggering 6000 peak amps, making it capable of jump-starting all gas engines and diesel engines up to 12 liters. This versatility makes it suitable for a wide array of vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs, and more. The 2025 upgraded jumper cables ensure a safe start, even in situations involving drained batteries.
Smart Safety Protections
Safety is a paramount concern, especially when dealing with high current devices. The AVAPOW jump starter includes intelligent jumper clamps that provide eight different safety protections. These features help prevent common issues such as reverse polarity, short circuits, and overcharging, ensuring that users can operate the device without fear of accidents. The indicator light on the clamps serves as an additional layer of assurance, notifying users of any incorrect connections.
Dual USB Outputs and DC Output
In addition to its primary function as a jump starter, the AVAPOW device serves as a portable power pack. It includes two USB output ports—one of which supports quick charging (5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A). This feature allows users to charge their devices like smartphones and tablets at lightning speed, making it a versatile tool for road trips and outdoor adventures.
LED Light Functionality
Equipped with a bright LED light that has three modes—lighting, flash, and SOS—the AVAPOW jump starter is designed for convenience in low-light situations. The ability to switch between modes at the push of a button allows users to use the light for multiple purposes, from starting their vehicles at night to signaling for help in emergencies.
User Experience
Positive Feedback from Users
- Reliability and Ease of Use: Many users have expressed their satisfaction with the AVAPOW jump starter’s reliability. One customer noted that they successfully jump-started multiple vehicles, including diesel trucks, without any issues. The compact size and lightweight nature (weighing just 2.8 pounds) make it easy to store and transport.
- Durability: Users have also praised the robust construction of the device. Reports of accidental drops without damage indicate that the AVAPOW jump starter is built to withstand rough conditions, making it an ideal choice for adventurous users.
- Quick Charging Capabilities: The dual USB outputs have received compliments for their efficient charging speeds. Users appreciated the time saved when charging their devices, highlighting this feature as a key advantage over competitors.
Mixed Reviews
However, not all experiences have been perfect. Some users reported difficulties during their first attempts to jump-start vehicles. One user recounted a frustrating experience with their Porsche Cayenne, where the unit seemed to trip after a brief initial power surge, leading to repeated failed attempts to start the vehicle. This has raised concerns about the reliability of the device in certain scenarios.
Customer Service Experience
AVAPOW’s customer service has received mixed reviews as well. While some users reported satisfactory resolutions to their problems, others felt that their concerns were not addressed promptly or effectively. This inconsistency can be a crucial factor for potential buyers who prioritize customer support.

I currently own two of these and am purchasing a third, with plans to get one more for my wife’s car. I’ve successfully jumped two diesel trucks, four cars, and my boat with it, and it performs exceptionally well. While camping, the light lasted a full 8 hours without any issues. It charges quickly, is incredibly durable (I’ve dropped it without any damage), and fits easily in any space. It’s very user-friendly. This is the best product I’ve ever bought; I just need the 2000A and 3000A versions to be completely satisfied.

UPDATE: 01-02-25: I tested the replacement unit three times and it started a nearly dead 6.2L engine in subfreezing temperatures without any hesitation, even doing it twice in one day. It also jumped my 6.5 Turbo Diesel with no issues, all on a single charge. When my Toyota 3.0L V6’s battery started failing and was only holding a few volts, the AVAPOW 6000 delivered full power and got it cranked up almost immediately after connecting. I confidently recommend this for anyone needing to jump larger diesel and gas engines, particularly those up to 10L. Just remember, it’s designed for 12V applications, not 24V. It’s been performing reliably, even in single-digit Fahrenheit temperatures. If you suspect electrical issues beyond just the alternator or battery, exercise caution to avoid damaging your vehicle’s electrical system.
UPDATE: 12-19-24: AVAPOW’s customer service has been exceptional. They reached out multiple times and have been very supportive. It seems my initial unit may have just been defective, which can happen with mass-produced items. The replacement units (A68-6000A models) have worked flawlessly. I was even offered an extended warranty, showcasing their commitment to customer support. I now feel comfortable recommending the AVAPOW A68/6000A jump starter and power supply. Be sure to read the manufacturer’s instructions, charge the unit for at least 6 hours until fully charged upon receipt, and test it according to the guidelines, as there are specific duty cycle and cool-down periods for repeated use. I’ve given it 4 stars for outstanding customer service and effective replacement units.
UPDATE: 12-2-2024: AVAPOW’s customer service continues to impress. I wanted to give a second unit a try, and it has performed well in comparison to the first. It charged without any issues using a Samsung USB-C quick charger and successfully started a low (approximately 9 VDC) single battery 6.2L V8 on a cold, subfreezing night. The second AVAPOW 6000 is functioning as promised so far. I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs in future real-world scenarios, but for now, I’m pleased and have increased my rating. If the next test goes well, it could earn a fourth star. The boost function is effective, but be aware that this unit has limitations and recommended usage instructions, so please read the manual.

This compact jump pack is fantastic! It performs exceptionally well; I’ve successfully jump-started multiple vehicles with it. The charging speed is impressively quick, and the carry case is just right. It’s very user-friendly, and I appreciate the safety feature that stops charging when it’s not needed. The flashlight is a nice addition, even though I haven’t used it much. I also love that it comes with a 12V cigarette lighter adapter and charging cord. I would definitely purchase this again—it’s much more powerful than any other jump pack I’ve owned!

AVAPOW 6000 was an epic disappointment right from the start. In contrast, my GOOLOO 4000 has always performed flawlessly. I recommend purchasing the GOOLOO 4000 instead.
Here’s what happened with the AVAPOW 6000:
Having both units on hand during a real-life situation highlighted the AVAPOW’s shortcomings. It seems to have some bizarre circuitry issue causing it to trip from GREEN to BLUE, resulting in a total power loss. In contrast, my GOOLOO 4000 has always been reliable, handling even the toughest situations like jumping a dead Ford F-350 Diesel in sub-zero temperatures with minimal charge.
I’ve owned the GOOLOO 4000 for over two years, and it has consistently performed well. Unfortunately, the AVAPOW 6000 failed on its very first use. As a mechanic for a major construction contractor, I know how to use these devices, and the AVAPOW 6000 is just too glitchy and unreliable. I’m returning it and sticking with the GOOLOO 4000, which is a proven, reliable workhorse. I really wanted to like the AVAPOW due to its higher amp capacity, but all those theoretical amps are useless if the circuitry is faulty.
