Does the Beats Pill compete with the Flip 6? Absolutely. But when it comes to the Charge 4 or 5, not at all.
Here’s my take: I got the Black Pill, and right out of the box, its versatility is impressive; it matches well with anything. I could have chosen the Champagne color, and it would have looked just as good. I immediately compared it to the Flip 6, and the Pill delivers brighter, crisper sound with deeper bass at 50% volume and below. However, above that volume, the bass gets muddy and produces an odd flutter sound. The Flip 6 still sounds good at 50% and lower, though it’s a bit quieter and less vibrant compared to the Pill.
The Charge 4 and 5, being larger speakers with bigger woofers, have the edge in that regard.
