Performance Features
High-Definition Video Quality
The camera boasts a resolution of 1080p HD video, delivering clear and crisp images that allow users to monitor their homes accurately. With a frame rate of up to 30 fps, the video quality is commendable, even when viewing live feeds or recorded clips.
Enhanced Motion Detection
One of the standout features of the Blink Outdoor 4 is its enhanced motion detection capabilities. The dual-zone technology allows for quicker alerts on your smartphone, effectively notifying you about any activity in the designated areas of interest. However, some users have reported occasional false positives, with pets or small animals triggering motion alerts.
Night Vision Capabilities
The infrared night vision feature provides visibility in low-light conditions, ensuring that users can monitor their property 24/7. While some users have noted that the night view isn’t the best compared to competitors, it serves its purpose well for general surveillance.
Two-Way Audio
The inclusion of two-way audio allows users to communicate easily through the Blink app. This feature is particularly beneficial for monitoring children outside or communicating with delivery personnel, enhancing the overall utility of the camera.

After experiencing some break-ins in my garage, I sifted through countless security cameras before finally settling on these. I’m thrilled with my choice—they’ve addressed all my concerns! Plus, I get to have some fun with everyone in my house when they leave.
Pros:
I did have a hiccup with UPS delivering mine to the wrong address, but Amazon promptly sent a replacement, which I appreciated!
Cons:

The ease of use and installation is outstanding—definitely a 10/10. I purchased it on Black Friday, along with a doorbell, and was able to connect all the cameras to the same sync module that came with the outdoor cameras. I was relieved to find that it worked seamlessly with my Verizon 5G internet, despite initial concerns. I tested one camera about 100 feet from my house, and it performed well.
While the night vision isn’t perfect, it serves my needs. The installation and connection process was incredibly straightforward. Compared to other brands, I saved hundreds. For me, it’s worth it, especially since the daytime view is impressive and allows me to monitor my home from every angle.
The sound quality is decent, and the microphone functions well. I tested it with my husband, and even at 100 feet away, we could hear each other clearly. There was a slight delay, but it wasn’t a major issue. If minimal delay is crucial for you, this might be a consideration.

We have been using the Blink Outdoor 3 camera outside our garage for a few years. Our driveway faces a different street from our front door, which made it frustrating not to have visibility when kids were playing outside or during school bus pickups. The system has its drawbacks, primarily tied to internet connectivity. That corner of our house is almost a dead zone for electronics, making it impossible to get WiFi in the garage, and the laundry room on that side frequently drops Bluetooth connections. While I could potentially invest in a mesh system, I haven’t felt motivated to do so. This connectivity issue, combined with my frequent use of the live view feature for bus pickups, has made the outdoor camera particularly frustrating. The live view is limited to just 5 minutes at a time, after which it disconnects and takes an eternity to reconnect—usually right when the kids are getting on the bus, causing me to miss the moment. Additionally, I receive constant warnings about high usage on my device since I change the batteries every 2-3 months due to how often we use this camera, which is quite annoying. Living in Minnesota, we face harsh winters; the cameras do not function in subzero temperatures, which I believe is more about the lithium batteries than the camera itself. Just be aware that extreme cold can leave you needing to replace all batteries.
I purchased the Outdoor 3 camera bundle (along with a Blink Mini) during October’s Prime Day to replace the garage camera and add two more on the back and side of the house. It was a nice surprise to find it included a Sync Module 2, which I wasn’t expecting. My first Blink system predates Amazon’s acquisition of the company, so we benefit from free storage with the original Sync Module. This is the sole reason we continue with Blink, despite considering other camera brands. That said, the Outdoor 4 is a significant upgrade. The camera has a wider and clearer angle, and I appreciate the durable exterior coating. While I still have it in outdoor plastic housing, it’s reassuring to know it’s not strictly necessary. The Outdoor 4 is noticeably thicker than the 3, so if you have the older model and bought housing before the 4 was released, you may need to upgrade. Most current housings work for both models, but anything specifically designed for the 3 will be too thin for the 4.
We all love the personalized alerts we receive now, such as “a person is at your garage,” rather than vague notifications. I’m not sure if this is due to a camera upgrade, the Sync Module 2, or software improvements, but it has made a huge difference. With three outdoor cameras and a doorbell, it’s convenient not to check recordings immediately unless there’s a person detected. I’m looking forward to the new Sync Module that’s being released, as it promises to improve WiFi range for the Outdoor 4 and includes scheduling capabilities. Currently, scheduling applies to the entire system, and it would be beneficial to set schedules for each camera independently.
