I’ll begin by mentioning some drawbacks. This product is significantly larger than the images suggest, which could pose a problem if you’re short on storage space. While it’s not as bulky as some of Castle Art’s other offerings, it is longer, measuring 16 inches in length and 11 inches wide. This measurement refers to the full case, which includes a pamphlet detailing the inventory and whether items should be wrapped. In my case, the three graphite sticks were meant to be wrapped, like the charcoal and pastel sticks, but unfortunately, they were not, allowing them to shift during shipping. While this isn’t entirely Castle Art’s fault, I feel it’s important to mention so that customers know what to expect. Aside from the straps and a few wrapped items or those with protective caps, there wasn’t much to keep the contents secure during transit. As a result, one of my water-soluble graphite pencils arrived broken at the tip. While a good sharpening will remedy it, it was disappointing to receive a damaged item right out of the box. Overall, aside from the bubble wrap and box provided by Amazon, the packaging was minimal.

Note that the case is large due to the number of items, but I really appreciate having everything at my fingertips. I am very satisfied with it. I previously had a Faber Castell graphite box with sanguine, but I was missing a few pieces; combining the two is perfect. If you’re planning to sketch outdoors, I recommend getting a case with multiple compartments for ease of use, but the case alone is perfectly fine, though it is quite large. It comes with four small notebooks of white and black paper, which you can leave inside the case for travel or use separately, depending on your needs. I rearranged my case to include only the essentials for my sketches. It’s truly perfect.
