I was really impressed to receive this product just 5 hours after placing my order. However, I wish they had placed the shipping label on the back of the box instead of the front, as it has damaged the packaging and may complicate any return process if necessary. The product itself exudes quality, and I’m eager to connect it to my Mac mini to see its capabilities. For the price, it’s a great piece of equipment. One last gripe is the inclusion of outdated USB ports instead of standard USB-C; it seems unnecessary and means I have to buy an adapter to connect it to my newer devices.

On the downside:
I’ve been using this keyboard since I started producing, and for the price, it’s hard to beat. I’m absolutely in love with it!

Whether I’m crafting delicate grand piano melodies or energetic synthesizer introductions, it allows me to explore my music in exciting new ways.
The backlit MPC pads are a standout feature. Their velocity sensitivity gives me precise control over rhythms and samples, enabling me to add depth and emotion to my compositions. The tactile feel is simply perfect, allowing me to focus on my performance without worrying about the pad response.
The rotary knobs are a marvel. They provide complete control over assignable parameters in my DAW, meaning I can fine-tune the EQ, switch synthesizer sounds, and much more with surprising ease. This lets me experiment and customize my creations in ways I’ve never experienced before.
The note repeat, arpeggiator, and omnidirectional joystick are features that have taken my creativity to new heights. These reliable functions are essential to my creative process, allowing me to intuitively explore patterns and effects.
The display is a true advantage, offering visual feedback directly in my workflow. Quick access to information like DAW mode, velocity, and CC data is a small yet powerful feature that makes everything flow more efficiently.
With its robust and portable design, plug-and-play connectivity, and smart layout, the MPK is an invaluable addition to my studio. There are no barriers to my creativity now that I can fully concentrate on my music. The controller is fantastic and very well-built. The keys have a light touch, but not in a cheap way. To optimize your experience, some adjustments are necessary, such as changing the key velocity to make the key presses and drum pads more responsive. One downside is the difficulty in finding support materials, like setup tutorials. It has an input for a sustain pedal, but I couldn’t figure out how to change the CC settings to enable sustain effects when pressing the pedal. The software for customizing the functions of each controller is quite comprehensive, but it lacks this particular option. The arpeggiator on this controller is amazing and really helpful. Beginners may find it a bit tricky to use at first, but if you’re willing to spend some time setting it up to your liking, you’ll absolutely love this keyboard.
