My experience with these devices dates back three years when I had a Fitbit Sense. The Fitbit Sense 2 has significantly improved; it’s lighter (it doesn’t feel heavy on my wrist) and now features a more prominent button that I absolutely love! ❤️❤️❤️ You can manage all the apps using this button. I’m completely satisfied with my purchase due to all the enhancements in the product. The design is beautiful, and the black color feels elegant and versatile.

I chose the Sense 2 because I was already comfortable with the original version, but I’ve found that it lacks some features I appreciated. For example, I can no longer control my podcast playback directly from the Sense 2, I can’t log my water intake in the daily stats, and I have to wait for the ten-minute warning to see how many steps I have left in the hour. On a positive note, the Sense 2 does have improved Bluetooth connectivity with my iPhone compared to the original Sense.

The notification is weaker than I expected.

The Fitbit Sense 2 is fantastic! I highly recommend it. I’ve been using it for nearly a year and couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

I purchased the Sense2 for myself and the Apple SE2 for my wife. Overall, the Fitbit offers more features on the device, while the Apple watch has greater app compatibility. However, Alexa is not as smooth to use as Siri on the Apple. I had to perform a hard reboot after just three days due to a software glitch, and I keep receiving unnecessary notifications about the payment function. In summary, if we were just considering the hardware, we would prefer the Fitbit over the Apple, but the software issues significantly detract from the experience.

After five years of reliable service from my old Versa, I decided to upgrade to the Sense 2, and it turned out to be a huge mistake. This device drains to 20% in about 12 hours and takes roughly two hours to recharge. You can wear it during the day or at night, but doing both requires setting aside time to charge it.
While the watch is equipped with numerous sensors, you’ll need to turn most of them off to get 12 hours of battery life. Based on what I’ve read on message boards, this seems to be a widespread issue. I plan to try some suggestions I found online for a few more days before returning it, but my hopes aren’t high.
It’s unacceptable for a company to market a product that fails to deliver on its claims! I recommend steering clear of Fitbit if you’re in the market for a smartwatch.
Update: Disabling features like stress management and restarting the device seems to have improved battery life a bit. Yesterday, it dropped to around 60% after a 40-minute walk with GPS on. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t charge back to 100% in the time it takes for me to shower and get dressed, meaning I’ll likely need to charge it twice a day instead of the advertised once every six days. Additionally, the heart rate monitor is incredibly inaccurate. It takes a long time to respond when I start vigorous exercise, lagging behind noticeable signs like heavy breathing by several minutes. It barely registers activities like rowing, despite the level of exertion. During an intense uphill climb, it struggled to even reach the fat burn zone. For some reason, the weather app also stopped working. The Google Maps feature displays incorrect turns unrelated to my phone’s route, which makes it unreliable for navigation.
I managed to get the weather app functioning again by setting location services to “always.” On days when I don’t use GPS, I can charge it during my morning shower and get close to a full charge. However, the heart rate monitor remains poor. My old Versa was slow to detect exercise, but the Sense 2 sometimes takes ten minutes to notice an increased heart rate.
I started a trial for Premium but haven’t found anything compelling that would make me want to pay for it after the trial ends.
Further update: The Sense 2 has started confusing driving for bicycling. Based on its claims, I should easily win the Tour de France, which is quite amusing for an out-of-shape guy like me.
Another month later, the charging issue has improved, and I only need to charge it once a day now. However, the GPS seems to be a random number generator, reporting distances that can vary by about 30% for the same walk. Surprisingly brisk walks sometimes register a slower pace than leisurely strolls.
The heart rate monitor has begun to reluctantly acknowledge my heart rate during rowing sessions, but it remains wildly inaccurate. For stationary biking, it often fails to register anything, then overestimates before settling down to a reasonable match with the bike’s monitor.
Sleep tracking seemed to stop after 14 days, even though I’ve worn the Sense every night for over 40 days. Honestly, I don’t even care what my “sleep animal” is; is this feature aimed at children or something?
My next fitness tracker or smartwatch will definitely not be a Fitbit. I’ll miss having seven years of data, but if most of it is unreliable, what’s the point?

Lightweight, the battery lasts a long time, practical, and easy to install!

I purchased this to replace my older Fitbit, which had a dying battery. It tracks steps, calories, heart rate, and more, just like my previous device. However, this one resembles an Apple Watch and offers a variety of watch faces. I selected a face that displays the time, day, date, steps, calories burned, and heart rate all on the main screen, eliminating the need to scroll through different screens for that information. The battery life is impressive, requiring a recharge approximately once a week, and Fitbits are known for their accuracy. I’m not particularly fond of the standard rubber watch bands that come with Fitbits, so I opted for a stylish fabric stretch band from Amazon instead. The instructions do caution against submerging the Fitbit in hot water or for prolonged periods, making it less suitable for hot tub users or swimmers!

I bought this watch mainly for its continuous heart monitoring, ECG app, sleep tracking, and basic fitness features like step and stair counting. The installation process was straightforward. I appreciated being able to disable the GPS and Alexa, which seemed to extend the battery life by an extra day. I could also turn off the fitness reminders, as I’ve been running and exercising for over 40 years and find them unnecessary. Additionally, I opted out of the Premium service to avoid monthly fees and extra notifications.
There is a vast selection of watch faces available, though I focused on the free options. One thing that was unclear is that you can only install six faces on the watch. When I found a better one, it wouldn’t install, and there was no explanation for this limitation. I specifically searched for watch faces featuring a battery indicator (which isn’t universal) and basic fitness stats. Finding watch faces that increased the font size for battery percentage and fitness figures was challenging, as I needed something more legible for my older eyes.
The biggest issue I encountered was with the watch band. My wrists are narrow, and bands with holes like the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) band are rarely spaced correctly for a good fit. I ordered a metal mesh band that uses a clamp to adjust the length, which provided comfort but was a hassle to put on. Thankfully, I only remove the watch once a day! I also tried another band with a folding clasp, similar to my previous watch, that adjusts by removing links. This process was tedious, requiring a magnifying ring light and a lot of patience. Unfortunately, it didn’t result in a snug and comfortable fit, just like the OEM band. For now, I’m going back to the band that works.
Update: I recently learned that it’s possible to get an adapter for my old watch band, allowing it to attach to the FitBit clamp system. I’m hopeful this will enable me to use my excellent old band.
Further update: The adapter I ordered took a while to arrive from China, but it worked perfectly. My old band was a 20mm design with an adjustable sizing clamp and a folding clasp for easy on and off. Now I have the best of both worlds: a great watch that’s easy to put on and take off while fitting snugly. I wonder why no one seems to manufacture this style of watch band specifically for the FitBit?

This is my third Fitbit, and I’m impressed once again. The battery life is outstanding, lasting a full week, and it charges completely in under an hour. I use it for texting, fitness tracking, and timers. I highly recommend it! Plus, there are adorable bands and screen protectors available.
