With its robust specifications, including a powerful AMD Ryzen 3 7330U processor, 16GB of RAM, and a generous 1TB SSD, this laptop promises exceptional performance at an attractive price point. In this review, we will delve into the various aspects of the HP 255 G10, evaluating its design, performance, battery life, usability, and overall value.
Design and Build Quality
Sleek and Portable
The HP 255 G10 boasts a modern and sleek design, characterized by its silver finish that adds a touch of elegance. Measuring just 15.78 x 10.15 x 0.78 inches and weighing around 60 pounds, this laptop is surprisingly lightweight and easy to carry, making it ideal for mobile work styles or students commuting to classes.
Display Quality
The laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) LED-backlit display, delivering crisp and clear visuals that enhance both productivity and entertainment experiences. The screen offers a decent viewing angle, although some users have noted that the colors may appear slightly washed out under certain lighting conditions. Nonetheless, the display is suitable for streaming videos, browsing the internet, and working on documents.
Performance
Powerful Processing
Powered by the AMD Ryzen 3 7330U processor, which operates at speeds up to 4.5 GHz, the HP 255 G10 is designed to handle demanding tasks with ease. Its 4-core architecture allows for efficient multitasking, making it an excellent choice for users who frequently run multiple applications or browser tabs simultaneously.
Memory and Storage
With 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, the HP 255 G10 excels in both speed and storage capacity. The robust RAM capacity ensures that users can run various applications without experiencing lag, while the SSD provides rapid boot-up times and quick data transfer rates. For those requiring even more storage, the laptop can accommodate up to 2TB, which is a significant advantage for creative professionals or gamers.
Battery Life
The HP 255 G10 offers commendable battery life, capable of lasting through a typical workday without needing a charge. Users have reported that the laptop charges quickly, allowing for minimal downtime during tasks. This feature is particularly beneficial for students or professionals who are always on the go.
Connectivity and Usability
Ports and Connectivity Options
Equipped with an HDMI port, USB-C for data transfer, and multiple USB-A ports, the HP 255 G10 provides decent connectivity options for various peripherals. However, some users have expressed disappointment regarding the absence of an Ethernet port and the limited functionality of the USB-C port, which does not support external monitors. This limitation may be a dealbreaker for users who require extensive connectivity for their work setup.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard features a separate number pad, enhancing usability for data entry tasks. While the layout is generally comfortable, some users have noted that the touchpad may inadvertently be activated while typing, leading to minor usability issues. However, with a bit of adjustment, most users can adapt to this design.

Overall Rating: 4.3/5
Considering its performance, design, and value for money, the HP 255 G10 earns a solid rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars. While it excels in many areas, including speed and multitasking capabilities, its limitations in connectivity options and display quality prevent it from achieving a higher score. I had to return this product after setting it up, and I’m quite disappointed. It’s missing an Ethernet port and an SD card slot, and the USB-C port only supports data transfer—meaning you can’t connect an external monitor. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. This could have been a great computer for me, but I really need that USB port for a monitor connection. Who designs a computer like this? Additionally, there’s only one USB-C port and one HDMI port, not the five ports advertised. If these limitations don’t bother you, then this might be the right computer for you! The company should seriously update their product information because, despite warnings from other reviews, nothing mentioned the USB-C port’s lack of support for external monitors. While I could manage without the other two features, they were important to me.

This laptop is fantastic—it’s quick and features a stunning display. The 1TB solid-state drive offers ample storage as well. I bought it to replace my aging HP Pavilion, which served me well for many years. Overall, I believe it’s an excellent laptop, particularly for the price. I haven’t been let down at all.

Impressive battery life, great screen size, fast performance, and powerful features… especially for someone who has exclusively used Apple products for years! I believe this is the best laptop available for the price.

I’m really enjoying this laptop! It’s perfect for my coursework and casual gaming when I want a break from my desktop PC. It’s impressively fast for its class, operates smoothly, and manages multitasking quite well. It’s lightweight and stays cool even after extended use, plus it charges quickly! My only minor issue is that the display could be a bit more vibrant, but overall, it’s fantastic!

This product has everything I wanted. The setup was simple, it’s a great size for me, and it’s lightweight. My only issue is that the alignment of the alpha section of the keyboard and touchpad feels a bit off, causing my right hand to rest on the touchpad more than I’d like. I believe I’ll get used to it with time.

I was in need of a laptop upgrade, and this one was a perfect match! The set-up was simple, the battery life is good, and it comes with an extra-long power cord. The separate number keys are a nice touch, and I got it for a great price—under $500 during a Black Friday sale. I really don’t see how you can go wrong with this laptop. While it’s not a touch screen, I was aware of that beforehand. Excellent value for the price!

This laptop offers great value for the price. It’s fast and has sufficient battery life, making it perfect for schoolwork and streaming videos. The setup process was simple and user-friendly. I chose to purchase Microsoft for $100 per year since my Microsoft and Amazon accounts use different emails. The design is sleek and slim, and connecting to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is effortless. On the downside, the touchpad sometimes lags when using Excel, but the arrow keys serve as a workaround. I also find it a bit frustrating that I have to press the fn key before using the function keys, like f4 for locking cells or f2 for renaming files.

Impressive speed! Transferring files from my old, sluggish computer was a breeze. User-friendly and straightforward. The screen is bright and easy to navigate.
