Lenovo New V15 Laptop Review: A Versatile Choice for Everyday Computing
The Lenovo New V15 Laptop has garnered attention for its impressive specifications and affordability, making it an appealing option for students, professionals, and casual users alike. With its robust hardware features and modern software, this laptop presents a compelling case for anyone in search of a reliable personal computer. In this review, we will explore various facets of the Lenovo V15, including performance, display quality, design, and user feedback.
Performance Specifications
Processor and RAM
At the heart of the Lenovo V15 is the Intel Celeron N4500 processor, a dual-core chip that operates at a base clock speed of 1.1 GHz, capable of boosting up to 2.8 GHz. This ensures adequate performance for basic tasks such as web browsing, word processing, and media consumption. Combined with 32GB of DDR4 RAM, users can expect a smooth multitasking experience, allowing for multiple applications to run simultaneously without significant slowdown.
Storage
The inclusion of a 1TB SSD is a standout feature, providing ample storage for files, applications, and multimedia. The SSD not only offers generous space but also enhances the laptop’s speed, resulting in quicker boot times and faster file access compared to traditional HDDs.
Display and Audio Quality
Screen Experience
The 15.6-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels) features an anti-glare finish, which is beneficial for outdoor use or brightly lit environments. However, some users have reported that the screen appears washed out, with limited options for adjusting color settings. Although the brightness level reaches 250 nits, it may not satisfy users seeking vibrant and accurate color reproduction.
Audio Performance
Equipped with Dolby Audio and stereo speakers (1.5W x 2), the audio output is decent for casual listening. While it may not replace dedicated speakers or high-end headphones, it performs adequately for video calls and streaming content.
Build and Design
Dimensions and Weight
The laptop measures 14.14 x 9.28 x 0.78 inches and weighs approximately 6 pounds, making it a bit heavier than some competitors in the same category. However, its size can be advantageous for users who prefer a larger screen without sacrificing functionality.
Keyboard Layout
One notable drawback is the keyboard layout, which appears to be configured for European users rather than the standard US layout. This has caused some frustration among users who rely on familiar key placements for touch typing.
Operating System
Running on Windows 11 Pro, the Lenovo V15 provides a modern interface with a range of features aimed at enhancing productivity and security. The setup process is straightforward, and it integrates well with various Microsoft services.

- Seamless Setup: Users have reported smooth installation and setup processes, particularly praising the ease with which Windows 11 Pro can be configured.
Areas for Improvement
- Display Quality: Several reviews noted dissatisfaction with the screen’s color accuracy and brightness levels, with some users mentioning issues like light bleed and washed-out colors.
- Keyboard Layout: The European keyboard layout has been a point of contention, leading to confusion and discomfort for users accustomed to the US configuration.
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
Taking into account the performance, display quality, design, and user experiences, we would assign the Lenovo New V15 Laptop an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

However, prospective buyers should consider the display limitations and keyboard layout before making a purchase.

This is an excellent product! I must say that this laptop is a great choice in terms of both price and features, whether for personal use, studying, or professional tasks. I highly recommend it!

Initially, I wasn’t in search of a high-end gaming computer; I needed an affordable yet reliable machine with some potential for upgrades if necessary. I gifted this laptop to my partner, and he absolutely loves it. It’s responsive, lightweight, and has an attractive design. However, there are two drawbacks I can’t overlook. Firstly, the screen suffers from significant light bleed, which, while not rendering it unusable, does impact the contrast—blacks appear more gray, and there’s noticeable light around the edges. Secondly, the RAM is soldered in place. While you can replace one slot with a larger stick, it may not be essential since this laptop is primarily used for office tasks rather than entertainment. Despite these issues, I would recommend this laptop, especially when it’s on sale. At its MSRP? Definitely not. But at $400 on sale? Absolutely.

The laptop’s screen is dull and lacking in color, with no adjustment options available other than brightness. This experience alone would deter me from purchasing a Lenovo again. Additionally, I received a device with the incorrect keyboard layout; it appears to be European rather than the standard US layout. Several keys are positioned differently, which complicates touch typing.

Great computer, but the keyboard is set up with a UK layout instead of a US one, which is what was advertised. When I switch it to US configuration, the keys function correctly, but the symbols above the numbers don’t match. This could pose a challenge for users who rely on the keyboard for reference.

This personal computer offers great value for the range of features it includes.

I was pleasantly surprised by the size; it’s larger than I expected, but that’s a plus for me. The instructions for exiting S mode were straightforward, allowing me to download apps beyond the store.
Cons (which I was aware of beforehand):
Overall, I’m giving it a 5-star rating because I knew what to expect and it performs exactly as I need it to. It’s already made a significant difference in my work, and I’m thrilled to have found a quality laptop that fits my budget.

I found the keyboard layout on this Lenovo laptop to be a bit unusual for the US market. After checking the Lenovo product support site, I confirmed it has a European keyboard layout. I’m still undecided on how I feel about that, but I’ll let it slide for now. Aside from that, the laptop performs well. Setup was a breeze, and it runs quickly while looking great overall. I’ll update my review if anything changes.

I purchased this laptop for my son for his upcoming high school year. The delivery was quick, and the setup was incredibly fast. For its intended use, it’s just right. I compared it with HP and Dell, and Lenovo provided the best value for the price. The Windows 11 installation went smoothly, and adding my son’s Microsoft account was a breeze. It has more than enough computing power and storage to meet a student’s needs. While it’s not a top-tier Lenovo model, it’s a student-quality laptop priced accordingly. Overall, I’m pleased with the purchase, and my son is happy with it.
