I purchased this saw for $399 on Prime Day and, although I had to wait a few months for availability, my old saw kept me from panicking. I previously bought the same Dewalt 12” compound sliding miter saw along with a matching folding bench about 20 years ago, and it has served me well. Unfortunately, I lent it to a friend who broke the locking mechanism. Back then, I spent $799 on the saw and bench, and I’ve never seen it for $399 since!
This new saw is somewhat lighter than my old one, as some metal parts have been replaced with plastic. Additionally, the base design has changed, causing the clips for my bench to misalign. I managed to make a few adjustments to get it to fit, but the saw’s weight isn’t perfectly centered over the bench. It still functions well, but if you’re using an older Dewalt bench, consider upgrading that too. Overall, I’m very pleased with the saw. It delivers plenty of power and cutting capacity with the 12” blade. Dewalt consistently produces durable, professional-grade equipment that can withstand heavy use.
