Designed to cater to a variety of battery types and applications, this smart car battery charger combines efficiency, versatility, and user-friendly features, making it an essential tool for any vehicle owner.

    Compact Yet Powerful

The GENIUS1 is an impressive piece of technology. It is 35% smaller than its predecessor, the G750, yet delivers over 35% more power. This compact design makes it easy to store and transport, while still providing robust performance for a wide range of battery types, including 6-volt and 12-volt sealed lead-acid automotive, marine, RV, and powersport batteries.

    Precision Charging Technology

One of the standout features of the GENIUS1 is its integrated digital thermal sensor. This advanced technology detects the ambient temperature and adjusts the charging process accordingly. This means that you won’t have to worry about overcharging in hot climates or undercharging in cold conditions, ensuring that your battery is always maintained at optimal levels.

    Revive Dead Batteries

The GENIUS1 is not just for maintenance; it also has the capability to charge dead batteries. It can handle batteries as low as 1-volt, making it a lifesaver in emergency situations. Its innovative force mode allows users to manually initiate charging, even from 0 volts, giving you control over the charging process.

    Advanced Battery Restoration

Another impressive feature is the advanced battery repair mode. Utilizing slow pulse reconditioner technology, the GENIUS1 can detect battery sulfation and acid stratification, thus restoring lost battery performance. This is particularly beneficial for those who wish to extend the life of their batteries and ensure stronger engine starts.

Charging batteries for bikes, whether 6 volts or 12 volts, is important. The current for the batteries should be at least 30 amps. If you prefer a higher output, it’s advisable to purchase a charger of the same model but with a current of 5 amps or more. The choice is yours.

I was genuinely surprised by how well this little charger worked, but it does require some patience. My Grandfather, a master mechanic, used to have massive chargers that were heavy enough to need wheels and had big switches that lit up. Those chargers were plugged into 220-volt outlets, while this one fits in the palm of my hand—smaller than most smartphones. I honestly thought it would be a joke.

When I hooked it up, I found that getting it to work wasn’t exactly straightforward. The instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired, but I discovered that many others who bought it had similar experiences. After some trial and error, I managed to get it working, just like the majority of users. Despite its lack of clear features or instructions, it ultimately does get the job done—in my case, taking a completely dead battery and reviving it. For that reason, I’m giving it a generous five stars, as it performed against all odds, just like Phil Collins sings about.

To be specific, it took me TWO WEEKS to charge a completely dead battery in my 2000 Lexus RX300, which has seen better days but is still going strong with over 270,000 miles. While the car has had its share of issues, the battery life has been a recurring problem. Being frugal, I opted for this charger instead of replacing the generator, leading me to the Noco Genius.

When I connected the Noco Genius, it showed a slowly blinking light, which was frustrating because it didn’t offer much information. There’s a force-charge function that’s supposed to help if the battery is too low, but it didn’t work on my dead battery at all. After some research, I learned that it only activates under certain conditions, and since my battery was completely kaput, it didn’t help.

I was about to give up when I had a lightbulb moment—what if I disconnected the battery and then charged it? Since the charger is only one amp, it’s not meant for quick charging or jumping a car. After disconnecting the battery and letting the charger work its magic, it finally made progress. I then reconnected the battery, and surprisingly, it shifted from a red blinking light to green.

In total, it took about 36 hours to charge the battery on its own. If you find yourself with a dead battery and have a couple of days to spare, this Noco Genius is definitely worth it! It really does work, and for the price—less than a steak dinner—it’s a great value. If it had cost even 50% more, I’d have reconsidered my rating, but as it stands, it revived my battery, and my car started right up afterward.

Overall, this is a handy tool to have on hand for emergencies, especially for the price. If your situation is anything like mine, I highly recommend this trickle charger. But if you need something more powerful, you might have to dig deeper into your wallet. Luckily, for about 99% of us dealing with a dead battery, this will get the job done. Good luck!

Based on everything I’ve read, this is one of the best options available. When it’s on sale, it costs the same as in the USA. I’m just starting to test it, and the only “strange” thing is that the manual doesn’t clearly explain how to use the recovery mode or revive batteries. It could be that the battery from my motorcycle is completely dead. Other than that, as a battery maintainer, it’s PERFECT.

The best trickle charger available! It has kept my Spiral AGM starter battery in excellent condition for a year. My rebuilt vehicle still has 100% CCA! Totally worth every penny!

I have several vehicles that I store during the off season, and this product is fantastic. With just a couple of small hex bit screws, the alligator clamps detach to reveal the standard smaller ring connectors. I installed them on my batteries, and the pig tails appear to be of good quality. The unit’s head is straightforward; just push a button to cycle through the modes. It supports old-school batteries, AGM, and lithium, though I’m currently using it only with AGMs.

This charger performs excellently and is more affordable than the brand name Battery Tender. I’m not entirely sure how it optimizes the battery, but it has effectively revived an older battery to a full charge. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is that it lacks standard SAE connections, which makes some of my other battery connections incompatible. While they offer an adapter, it’s quite overpriced. If the SAE connection isn’t a concern for you, this charger is a fantastic choice.

The packaging is excellent and the quality is high, but the shipping takes a long time—around 60 hours from 0 to 100. If you need it quickly, go for the stronger option.

      O’s Fun Planet

Since the pandemic began, we’ve all been spending more time at home, which means our car batteries haven’t been getting the regular charge from daily drives. After six months of minimal driving—just about ten minutes a few times a week—my relatively new car battery finally gave out and wouldn’t start the car.

I searched Amazon for battery chargers and initially considered a $30 trickle charger from a less reputable brand, despite the poor reviews. However, I came across the NOCO brand and felt confident that the $50 price tag was justified. I was right, especially after seeing all the glowing reviews! The build quality is exceptional, it’s incredibly easy to use, and it performs flawlessly.

The NOCO Genius1 1-Amp is the most affordable smart charger from NOCO, so it does take some time to charge a nearly dead battery—I left mine plugged in overnight. But if you’re not in a hurry, it offers good savings compared to the faster, pricier models. It definitely gets the job done!

Initially, I used the pre-installed clamps to connect to the battery terminals, but then I removed the hex screws and permanently attached the NOCO eyelets to my battery. This lets me plug in the charger weekly to prevent the battery from dying again (who knows how long this pandemic will last…). The negative and positive terminals can easily be unplugged from the wall outlet, allowing you to leave the leads connected to the car battery while storing the charger at home or in the glovebox. The eyelets fit perfectly over 10mm bolts.

      Highly recommended!

The popularity of the NOCO GENIUS smart car battery charger is well-deserved. It works effectively, is incredibly easy to use, and addresses a significant concern for car owners who leave their vehicles unattended for extended periods.

In the past, turning off your vehicle meant all power was cut, preventing battery drain. However, modern cars have numerous components that remain active even when the car is off. After a two-week trip, I returned to find my car struggling to start. But during a six-week vacation last summer, I came back to a completely dead battery in my three-year-old car with only 20,000 miles on it. Nothing worked—no lights, locks, or even the trunk. I even had trouble accessing the electronically assisted doors. My car had sent me an email while I was away, notifying me that it was shutting down systems to conserve battery power. When I checked the voltage upon my return, it was a shocking 3 volts. After charging it overnight, it only reached 6 volts and still wouldn’t start. Thankfully, I had a micro jump starter on hand, which came in handy. I took it to the Lincoln dealer, who replaced the battery under warranty. They advised that for trips longer than a week, I should use a trickle charger or disconnect a battery terminal to avoid complete discharge. They preferred the trickle charger to prevent needing to reset various electronic settings. I’ve noticed that many new luxury vehicles now have two batteries—one for starting and another for the electronics, similar to yachts. With all the apps and systems running continuously, if you don’t use your car regularly, your battery will drain quickly.

While this charger can recharge a very low battery, it’s important to note that it’s primarily designed for maintenance. Charging from a dead state can be slow, as batteries typically need a specific charging profile that includes a heavy-duty “bulk charge” phase followed by a maintenance phase. This charger focuses on the maintenance aspect, providing around 1 amp.

What you need is a SMART trickle charger capable of recognizing your battery type and adjusting its charging accordingly to keep it at an optimal level for longevity. The NOCO GENIUS does just that. I appreciate its simplicity; it’s so easy that even my wife can use it without worry. Additionally, it’s reasonably priced and often available on sale, making it a fantastic deal. In my opinion, everyone should have one. It will save you more money than its cost and prevent the frustration of returning from a vacation to a dead car that needs servicing.

      Positives:
      • Effective trickle charger
      • Easy to connect and use
      • Safe for your battery (no overcharging risk)
      • Ideal for long-term unattended use
      • Affordable

      Negatives:
      • Not the best for charging from a very low state
      • Cannot jump-start your vehicle

I believe you will find this product valuable, providing years of reliable service for a modest price. ★★★★★
