Heavy-Duty Clamps
The clamps are a critical component of any jump starter, and the GB70 does not disappoint. However, some have pointed out that the plastic on the clamps could be improved for better durability.

Started my 6-liter V8 effortlessly on the first try. This jump starter is outstanding. The craftsmanship is incredible, looks like it’s made from a single block, and it has endless power. It maintains its charge for months, so the power management is top-notch. Quality is top-notch.

As a professional auto technician with years of experience, I’ve already invested in all the essential tools. However, I’ve found myself seeking out items that I hadn’t planned on purchasing but realized I needed when they were absent or inadequate at the shop.
I decided to buy this jump starter while working at a dealership that reconditions and resells used cars, with anywhere from 2,500 to 5,000 vehicles at the facility at any given time. Given the scale of operations, dealing with numerous dead batteries was a daily occurrence, and I often had to jump-start between 4 to 10 cars a day, ranging from compact electric vehicles to diesel trucks. Out of all the hundreds of cars I’ve jumped, this jump starter only failed on one occasion, and that was due to an extreme battery discharge (1V) where access to the terminals was restricted.
The product description claims it can jump up to 20 cars on a single charge, but I believe that’s an understatement. I’ve used it throughout the week to jump more than 30 vehicles before needing a recharge, and I only plug it in when it drops to 25% according to the LED indicators. It’s particularly useful for electric cars, which have a standard 12V battery for starting. Many times, both the 12V and the main battery would be dead, and this jump box was able to get them started. I would even leave it connected while driving the car to the shop, and it would power the electric car with the AC running for several minutes without significantly draining the jump starter’s charge. Of course, using it this way multiple times a day does deplete it more quickly, but for jump-starting, the charge seems to last indefinitely. It can also be used to power a gasoline engine if the alternator fails.
There are a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning. The cables are a bit shorter than I would prefer, which can make them slightly tricky to connect to some batteries. Additionally, the light button’s placement makes it too easy to accidentally turn the light on, leading to instances where I’ve left it on for an extended period without realizing. It’s also somewhat heavy, but I only mention this because I carry it in a backpack with other tools; for the average user, the weight should not be an issue. It is significantly more compact and lighter than traditional jump boxes. Lastly, it does take quite a long time to charge fully, particularly if it’s mostly depleted.
Despite these minor points, they should not deter you from purchasing this jump starter. I absolutely love it and regret waiting so long to buy one.
Update: I’ve been using this jump starter for almost two years now, and it’s still going strong. I’m currently working in a standard shop, so I’m not jump-starting cars daily, but the charge lasts forever. I now charge it about once a month, and while it never runs out of power, I plug it in if I notice it’s low. It remains the best jump box I’ve ever used.
Update: I originally purchased this in March 2017, and I’m now buying a second one for home use. I plan to keep the older one for home and use the new one at work. I still love this jump box and continue to use it daily for jump-starting cars. Now that it’s approaching five years old, it does need charging more frequently—similar to an old smartphone—but it’s still performing well. The cables remain a bit annoying in their length, and I find myself charging it every few weeks while using it almost daily. The rest of my previous review still holds true; the only difference is the need for more frequent charging due to age. Nonetheless, it’s still perfect for home use, and I’ll have a fresh one for work.

We rarely use our car, and the battery died, making it impossible to recharge it with a trickle charger. Given the tight space in our garage, I couldn’t jump-start it with cables from another vehicle. However, the booster started the car on the first try, allowing me to get to my garage without any issues. I highly recommend it!

I purchased this booster for starting motorcycles, and I am completely satisfied with it.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about this jump pack, but I needed a replacement since my old one stopped working. I really appreciate how lightweight it is. However, I did notice that the plastic on the clamps isn’t the highest quality.

Say goodbye to the hassle of needing a jump start! If you don’t have one in your car, you definitely should get one! No more relying on strangers to help you out. It’s barely larger than my cellphone and can provide multiple jumps on a single charge! Perfect for use on the farm or anywhere else, especially when your front end is parked in a tight spot where cables can’t reach. This device is literally a lifesaver in emergencies! Plus, it can charge your phone and has a built-in flashlight. I’m absolutely in love with this gadget!

I bought this battery jumper to keep in my car for emergencies, and thankfully, I haven’t had to use it yet. However, after my initial assessment, I would definitely buy this jumper again and recommend it as a solid investment. I’ve also noticed that the same brand is used by the garage that services our company fleet vehicles.
This unit feels very robust and, with the provided instructions and accessories, seems easy to operate. It features a built-in light at the front near the cables, which will be quite useful if I need to use it at night. The clamps and cables are noticeably heavier than those on cheaper units, adding to its durability. The package includes charging cords and a convenient cloth storage bag, which is perfect since I keep it in my car.
The user manual is well-written and available in multiple languages, with clear instructions. However, the small black and white text might be a bit difficult for someone like me, who isn’t an expert, to read during a nighttime or inclement weather emergency. Since I bought this unit for emergency situations, I created a color-coded, plastic index-sized User Guide with large, easy-to-read font and attached it for quick reference. I hope I won’t need to test it out anytime soon, but I feel prepared just in case.

I opted for the older GB70 2000A model due to mixed reviews about the newer versions featuring USB-C charging and USB-C PD. While I was a bit disappointed, I have to say, this unit is AMAZING!
Upon arrival, I charged it fully and took it out back to test it on several vehicles. None had dead batteries, so I disconnected them entirely and started the following: a 3.3L V6 Caravan, a 2.4L inline 4 PT Cruiser, a Cummins 5.9L Diesel in an old Dodge Ram, a 7.3L PowerStroke diesel in an old Ford, and even an old bus with a 7.6L inline 6 DT466 mechanical diesel.
The 2000A unit started them all without a hitch and showed a full charge afterward. (For context, disconnecting the dead battery first requires less energy to start the vehicle since none is used to recharge the main battery.)
Additionally, this unit proved invaluable during a 3+ week trip when our main vehicle battery began to weaken. We relied on it multiple times to get us going again!
It’s a fantastic unit, although it may be a bit bulky for everyday travel in its case. However, it’s perfect for a workshop, garage, or long excursions when you really need it. I’m considering getting a smaller one to keep with me at all times.

We have it in our camper van since we do a lot of wild camping.

I purchased this product primarily for its convenience in jump-starting vehicles. Rather than connecting jumper cables from a live battery to a dead one and risking a battery explosion, this device eliminates the hassle. Simply attach the cable to the dead battery, power up the unit, and start the vehicle—it’s that easy. Afterward, just turn off the unit and disconnect it from the battery. There’s no need to search for jumper cables or another vehicle; it can be done solo.
