I needed a newer generation charger that would work with AGM batteries. I was dealing with a 6-year-old wet cell battery that was testing below the minimum for static voltage, CCA, and overall life. I decided to try this charger using the Pulse setting, which claims to repair weak batteries. After 8.5 hours, the charger shut off, indicating that the battery was in good condition, with voltage above minimum and life improved from 58% to 83%. After letting it sit overnight indoors, it now shows 100% life and remains above minimum voltage. It’s a 750 CCA rated battery, but it currently shows over 500 CCA. It’s hard to predict how much longer the battery will last under normal conditions. Since CCA is crucial for starting the engine in cold weather, I wouldn’t rely on it at zero temperatures. However, the charger seems to do its job well. I noticed some complaints about the selection button being finicky, but I found it works best if you follow this sequence: Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal, the black clamp to the negative, gently press the select button with your thumb for your desired setting, and then plug in the power cord. I do agree that the cords could be about a foot longer for easier reach.

The charger includes a built-in fan to keep it cool during operation. The overall quality is impressive for the price; it’s made of durable plastic and feels sturdy, while the clamps are also well-designed. Its compact size enhances portability, allowing for easy transport wherever needed.
The only notable downside is the short AC cord, so you’ll need the battery nearby or an extension cord. Additionally, the mode button is touch-sensitive, allowing you to cycle through modes with a simple tap. These modes include STD (Standard lead-acid), AGM/GEL, WET, Motorcycle Trickle, and Repair.
I noticed other reviewers mentioning issues with the touch button, but I wonder if those problems stemmed from the plastic screen protector that comes on it. I removed mine immediately after unpacking, and I haven’t encountered any issues. It’s charged my sister’s battery about three times without any problems, and I’m looking forward to testing the repair mode on my aging battery. Overall, for the price, it’s an excellent product that I highly recommend!
