I’ve been using this mower for about a month now, and I’m excited to share my positive experience. I have a small patch of grass that measures 30×20 feet. Previously, I used a push reel mower for about a year, but it struggled to pick up leaves, flower petals, and taller weeds, often just flattening them or chopping them up into a messy pile. I wanted a mower that would not only cut the grass cleanly but also collect debris effectively.

This small mower has been perfect for my needs. It’s easy to start, effortless to push, and bags remarkably well. The battery lasts for four to five cuts, which is quite impressive. I’ve heard some complaints about battery life, but those likely come from users with larger yards who chose a mower that doesn’t suit their space. For smaller lawns or patches, I highly recommend this fantastic little mower. It delivers a straight cut, features a user-friendly folding handle, operates quietly, and starts without any hassle.

The package was delivered late yesterday afternoon (July 17, 2024). After reading the instruction manual, it took me about five minutes to attach the handles, and it was ready to go. The battery was only slightly charged, so I put it on the charger, and it was fully charged within about an hour and a half.

When I started it up, it ran for about three seconds before stopping. I tried again with the same result—three seconds of running and then it died. I began to wonder if all those negative reviews were justified.

I decided to search online for the issue and found a suggestion to ensure the battery was securely pushed into its slot to engage the contacts. I removed the battery, reinserted it firmly, and tried again. Success! It started and ran smoothly. I called it a day.

This morning, after breakfast, I took it out to tackle our overgrown “lawn” in the high desert of northern New Mexico, specifically a challenging side yard. It started right up. It’s light and maneuverable, making it much easier to handle than our old corded electric mower, which had finally given up the ghost ten days ago, prompting this purchase.

While it doesn’t cut as wide a path as our previous mower (16” vs. 21”), it excels in every other aspect. It cuts through tough weeds effortlessly. To my surprise, it also ran for an hour and ten minutes on its first charge, much longer than I anticipated. Plus, it’s quiet. At one point, my wife took over, and I struggled to get it back from her. She loves it!

      I’m genuinely impressed!

I wanted to share some additional insights after revisiting my experience with this mower. The battery needs to be charged both before and after use, and it’s best to store it separately from the charger. Since I started doing this, I’ve noticed the battery lasts nearly 50 minutes per charge. I also decided to keep the battery indoors instead of in the garage where temperatures exceed 90°F, as excessive heat can reduce its charging capacity. I learned this the hard way with my old cell phone, which I kept charging constantly and ended up damaging. Just wanted to pass this along for anyone facing battery issues.

Update: This mower continues to perform exceptionally well. Initially, removing the battery was a bit tricky, but it has a release button that makes it easier once you get the hang of it. After a spring cleanup, I realized I also own a Greenworks electric pressure washer, which has been reliable for five years. It has withstood hours of continuous use without any problems. I think it’s safe to say I appreciate the quality of Greenworks products. I also bought a weedeater and will review that later. (And just to clarify, I wasn’t compensated for this review!)

Update #2: The mower tackled a large area of knee-high grass in my backyard with ease. It was the first cut of the year, and I also did the front yard at 7 am, even with wet grass, and it operated quietly without waking the neighbors. After using it, I removed the battery, tipped the mower to clean underneath it, gently rinsed it, and let it dry. It’s still working great!

Original Review: This is my first experience with battery-operated yard equipment. I chose this option to stop paying a lawn service for weekly mowing when only the front yard needs regular attention. With this mower, I can mow as often as necessary without the added expense or waiting for a scheduled service.

The mower arrived brand new in its box, though the instructions could have provided more detail and clearer images. I struggled a bit with assembling the handle and cam locks, but after some effort, I got everything in place. The battery slides into the charger, which blinks green while charging and turns solid green when fully charged. It clicks into the mower in a similar fashion and has a power indicator with four lights that show the charge level. Starting the mower is simple—just press the button, which is clearly labeled, and you’re good to go. Stopping it is just as easy; release the bar, and it halts immediately. Adjusting the cutting height is effortless, and it locks securely.

On my first run, I mowed my entire front yard and around the side of the house in 35-40 minutes with the battery still going strong. The mower adjusts its speed based on grass thickness, and while I haven’t used the grass catcher, I appreciate how lightweight and quiet it is. I doubt my neighbors across the street could hear it.

One crucial tip I’d like to share is from a YouTube tutorial that recommended not to leave the battery on the charger constantly. Charge it before use and again after mowing, then store it separately to extend its lifespan.

Overall Impression: This mower starts easily, operates quietly, and is lightweight, allowing for effortless maneuvering. The battery lasts a long time, making it a worthwhile investment for me—I expect it to pay for itself in just three uses (I got it on sale for $75 off). I’m thrilled to cut down on yard care costs without the hassle of gas maintenance. I purchased an extra warranty because I believe a 30-day return window isn’t enough time to gauge its performance over a summer. I’ll update this review later, but for now, it earns four stars.
