I’m writing this to address any negative reviews out there. The truth is, this product works wonders. We have a basenji-mix who was in rough shape last November. After some tests, we found she had elevated liver counts and needed a strong course of antibiotics. We started her on Denamarin, and it was like we got a new dog! She now has an incredible amount of energy.
Many of the one-star reviews seem to stem from dogs not liking the taste or the pill itself, which isn’t a fair assessment of the product. Just because a dog is picky doesn’t mean the product is ineffective. Some dogs are simply finicky eaters or might dislike this particular tablet, but that doesn’t reflect on the product’s performance.
As for the seller, everything has gone smoothly. Deliveries are prompt. I had a minor issue with a slightly compromised seal, but they quickly sent out a replacement. I even contacted Nutramax customer service to verify the product’s lot number, and everything checked out.
In short, this product works exceptionally well and has given our dog even more energy. If your dog is a picky eater, consider trying a smaller quantity first. Overall, I can’t recommend it enough.
The only downside is the cost; it’s quite pricey. However, when compared to most prescription medications, it’s not too bad. A 75-count bottle lasts about a month and a half for my 30-pound dog, costing around $1.50 a day. I’ve spent money on less worthwhile things, but it would be nice if it were cheaper.
EDIT: The price for a 75-count pack just increased by $6, which is disappointing. This doesn’t change my opinion of the product, but it’s frustrating on the seller’s part.

I’m adjusting my rating from 4 to 3 stars. Our vet recommended this supplement for my dog due to her consistently elevated liver enzyme levels. After starting it, her test results showed improvement, so we decided to keep her on it daily for life. However, I wish it came in a smaller, concentrated form for small dogs. She takes half a tablet daily, and I have to cut them into quarters and coat the pieces with almond butter to get her to eat them. If I don’t disguise them, she won’t touch them. We tried crushing them and mixing them with her food, but that made the food unappealing to her.
Update: Now, she refuses to eat these even with almond or peanut butter or cheese. We’ve reduced the dose to a quarter of a tablet, crushed and mixed with wet food. She hesitates before eating, and sometimes the food sits for a while before she finally gives in. The pills have a sour taste and a strong smell, and they are quite large. The recommended half pill is just too much for our little dog, and there’s no way she’ll take it on its own. We’ll be looking for a different version of this supplement.
