This Chromebook is great! It’s super easy for my 6-year-old daughter to use for her online schoolwork. She can also fold it into tablet mode to watch YouTube videos. It’s fast and high-quality. I’m really pleased with it, especially since I bought two for my kids’ education.

Update: After a few months of use, I’ve encountered a recurring issue while watching movies and shows. The Chromebook’s picture occasionally starts to jump and then freezes, similar to an old record skipping. I have to press the power and refresh buttons to reboot it, and this happens almost daily, which can be quite frustrating. End of update.
As someone who isn’t particularly tech-savvy and has never owned a laptop before, I found myself needing one after breaking my leg and ankle. Being bed-bound, I wanted a better option for Zoom calls with friends than my iPhone, which isn’t ideal for that purpose. I knew I wanted a touchscreen laptop that was easy to use. After some research, I came across this Acer Chromebook. The reviews were positive, and the price fit my budget.
When I received it, I was pleased to discover that it was straightforward to navigate. Setting it up with Netflix and Amazon Prime was a breeze, and the picture quality for streaming shows and movies is excellent. It’s the perfect size for watching while I recover in bed, instead of being stuck in the living room. Zoom calls are much more manageable now compared to using my phone. I also enjoy the game apps, which have made my time bedridden much more enjoyable. I know that even after I recover, this Chromebook will still be a valuable addition due to its user-friendly keyboard and touchscreen capabilities.
Despite my lack of experience with computers, I found this device easy to use and the picture quality is impressive. The sound comes from the bottom of the Chromebook, which isn’t very loud—a plus for me since I’m sound sensitive. I usually enable closed captions on my TV, and I’ve done the same with this Chromebook. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase.

This Chromebook closely resembles what my daughter used in school, making our transition to online homeschooling seamless. It’s compact and portable, which is a definite plus. We appreciate that it lacks unnecessary features; it’s exactly what we needed. The battery life is impressive, lasting a long time on a single charge. While we primarily use it for online classes and some web browsing for research, it has performed exceptionally well. It’s fast, responsive, and easy to set up. We’ve experienced no technical issues at all, and it’s functioned perfectly every day. Overall, we are very satisfied and believe it’s an ideal Chromebook for homeschooling.

The Spin 360 Chromebook is perfect for students. It’s lightweight and offers excellent battery life. The bright display and responsive touchscreen enhance the user experience. I’ve purchased a second one to replace a less durable model. I highly recommend it as a budget-friendly, high-quality Chromebook.

Several years ago, I was on the hunt for a new laptop when a knowledgeable associate at a big box store asked about my usage needs. After I explained, he recommended a Chromebook, specifically from ACER, a brand I was unfamiliar with at the time. He assured me it was the best choice, and I decided to go for it. I’ve never regretted that decision and have since purchased multiple Acer Chromebooks. I even recommend them to family members, including those who typically prefer Apple products. I currently own two—one as a backup and another for on-the-go use. I appreciate the touchscreen feature, even though I don’t use it often, and I love how easy it is to set up right out of the box. If you have a Google account, you’re all set; if not, you can create a new one to keep things separate. I’m committed to ACER for life!

I bought the Acer Chromebook Spin 311 to serve as a bedside entertainment center, prioritizing streaming capabilities and quality screen resolution. I appreciated the versatility of being able to position the screen either open like a laptop or flipped into a triangular shape. Additionally, reliable Bluetooth was essential since I use comfortable headphones for sleeping. I have a vast music collection stored on an external SSD, and I love MediaMonkey for its customizable Windows interface (I expected a similar experience with the ChromeOS version, which turned out to be my first major disappointment).
Now for the positives: The device itself is impressive. It feels sturdy, and the touchscreen is responsive, though sometimes I find myself tapping an app two or three times to open it. The screen resolution and sound quality are great for a device of this size and price—don’t expect studio-quality audio, but streaming looks fantastic. The visuals are clear, comparable to watching on a smaller television. Plus, I really like that the USB-C port is available on both sides, making it convenient to plug in from either direction—it’s the little things that count.
Performance is excellent; I experience no lag and have had no issues streaming Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+. I just realized I haven’t tried Twitch or YouTube yet. I’ll download those apps and will update this review if any problems arise.
However, I have one significant complaint: the apps are frustrating. Initially, I was so disappointed that I considered returning the device. After some thought, I decided to stick with it. A large part of my disappointment stems from the lackluster ChromeOS version of MediaMonkey. I tried various music apps and ended up using one that annoys me the least—VLC. Most apps come with intrusive ads, and even the paid options didn’t seem worth it.
Even basic apps like alarm clocks or Bluetooth managers were a hassle; I downloaded several but kept settling on the ones that irritated me the least. I even looked for a power button app for easy shutdown, but despite numerous options, none performed well, and one required closing an ad just to turn it off (seriously?!?).
In deciding whether to keep the device, I weighed its solid build and reliable performance against the underwhelming app experience compared to Windows or Mac. Ultimately, I’m glad I decided to keep this little gem. It’s a dependable entertainment unit where it truly matters: it streams beautifully and plays my favorite music while I roam around the house with my Bluetooth headphones. The app situation is disappointing, but considering the price point, I think it’s a good deal that I can live with.
