The SAMSUNG Galaxy Watch Ultra 47mm LTE AI Smartwatch has emerged as a robust player in the smartwatch domain, captivating users with its blend of advanced technology and thoughtful design. Released on July 10, 2024, this smartwatch is built for those who lead an active lifestyle while also seeking sophisticated features for everyday use. Below, we delve into various facets of this smartwatch, providing insights based on user experiences and product specifications.
Design and Build Quality
Sturdy and Stylish
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is crafted from durable titanium, making it not only rugged but also visually appealing. Its dimensions of 6 x 4 x 4 inches and lightweight design (8 ounces) ensure that it feels comfortable on the wrist, even during extended wear. Many users have noted its larger 47mm size, which provides a bold presence while still being surprisingly easy to handle, thanks to the lightweight materials used.
Display and Usability
The watch features a bright AMOLED display that stands out in various lighting conditions, enhancing user interaction. The touchscreen is responsive and easy to navigate, offering a seamless experience whether you are tracking workouts or managing notifications. Users appreciate how the larger screen size allows for easier readability compared to smaller models.
Performance and Battery Life
Advanced Tracking Features
Equipped with cutting-edge AI technology, the Galaxy Watch Ultra offers heart rate tracking, sleep monitoring, and fitness tracking capabilities. Users have praised the accuracy of heart rate measurements, often finding them to be within a beat or two of medical devices. The watch also provides personalized wellness tips, helping users optimize their daily routines based on their activity levels and health data.
Battery Life: A Mixed Bag
While SAMSUNG advertises a battery life of up to four days, user experiences vary significantly. Many have reported getting around 1.5 to 3 days of battery life with regular use, especially when utilizing features like Always-On Display (AOD). This variance may impact those who prefer longer battery life, but the majority agree that the functionality and features offered make it worth the charge time.
Connectivity and Functionality
Seamless Connectivity
The Galaxy Watch Ultra boasts both cellular and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to stay connected without needing to rely on their smartphones. Users have reported reliable performance with no connectivity issues, whether using Bluetooth for notifications or LTE for calls and texts.
Customization and App Ecosystem
Customization is another strong point of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Users have noted the extensive range of watch faces and bands available, allowing for a personalized touch. However, some have pointed out that the app ecosystem is more limited compared to competitors like WearOS, which might deter power users looking for a greater variety of applications.
User Experience and Comfort
Comfort for All Wearers
Many users have commented on the comfort of the watch, even those who previously found larger watches cumbersome. The adjustable watch bands available, such as the “peak form,” enhance the overall wearability, making it suitable for different wrist sizes and preferences.
Feedback from Users
Users have expressed satisfaction with the watch’s voice recognition capabilities, noting that it performs well in loud environments. The microphone picks up commands clearly, making it easy to use voice-to-text features effectively. The customization options for watch faces and functions have also received positive remarks, with users enjoying the ability to tailor their experience.

I haven’t had anyone comment on my watch in ages, but just last week, a coworker complimented the digital watch face. I love how customizable it is; there are countless free watch faces and colors available to download and install from the app on my smartphone. The watch is packed with features, which can be a bit overwhelming. Setting it up using the Samsung app was a breeze. It’s also very durable—I’ve taken some hard knocks, and it hasn’t scratched at all. My only complaint is the battery life; with everything running, it lasts about three days for me.

I’m really impressed with this watch! The design is fantastic, and the bright screen is a standout feature. The buttons are easily accessible, and the functionality is excellent and user-friendly. I tested its accuracy against a medical heart rate monitor and blood oxygen meter, and it was only off by one or two beats. It works seamlessly with Google and Bixby, and voice commands for texting perform well. While I’m not a professional athlete, I appreciate a stylish, well-built watch that enhances my daily life. With moderate use and the always-on display, I get about two and a half days between charges. I wasn’t a fan of the original band, so I switched to the “Peak Form” band, which I’ve been really happy with.

The battery life was advertised to last four days, but I’m only getting about 1.5 to 2 days with basic settings. It feels comparable to my Watch 5 Pro, and I expected better performance. Everything else about this watch is excellent, but the battery life doesn’t align with its value for money. I prefer larger watches, and this one fits the bill perfectly. The build quality is impressive, and the metal bezel adds protection to the screen.

I recently purchased the 47mm Watch Ultra, and I initially hesitated to spend so much on a watch. However, now that I have it on my wrist, I couldn’t be happier with my decision. This is by far the best watch I’ve ever owned, exceeding all my expectations. Everything functions as promised and offers a plethora of features. The large screen makes it much easier to navigate compared to other smartwatches I’ve tried.
The battery life is impressive; I often use it for 12 hours at work and still come home with at least 75% remaining. It outlasts my phone in terms of battery life. The microphone and voice-to-text capabilities are excellent. Despite the noise at work, this watch hears me perfectly, unlike my old phone, which struggled to pick up my voice. I’ve had no issues with Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity, although I don’t utilize the 4G feature, so I can’t speak to that.
Upgrading from a 42mm to this 47mm watch has been quite a change—it feels substantial, but with the trail band, it’s the most comfortable watch I’ve ever worn. The customization options are fantastic as well.
As a left-handed person, I wear my watch on my right wrist. This is the first watch I’ve owned that can be inverted, allowing the buttons to face my hand. Now, I can easily use my fingers to operate the buttons instead of relying on my thumb.
I’ll share some pictures later!

I’m really happy with it! I enjoy a battery life of four days, and it syncs perfectly with all my other devices. It’s not as bulky as I expected, and it’s as beautiful as I am! Great features and a wide selection of bands. The charging is a bit slow, but that’s not a big deal.
