Review of the PETLIBRO App Monitoring Cat Water Fountain
The PETLIBRO App Monitoring Cat Water Fountain has recently made waves in the pet care market, especially among cat owners looking for an efficient and innovative way to ensure their feline friends stay hydrated. With its sleek design and advanced features, this 2.5L/84oz automatic water dispenser promises not only to meet the hydration needs of house cats but also to allow owners to keep track of their pets’ drinking habits through a smart application. In this review, we will explore the various aspects of this product, from its design and functionality to its performance and user experience.
Design and Build Quality
Aesthetics and Material
The PETLIBRO water fountain boasts a modern, minimalist design that can seamlessly fit into any home decor. Available in a chic black color with a wood grain finish, it stands out as both functional and stylish. Constructed from 304 food-grade stainless steel, the fountain is not only durable but also easy to clean, which is a significant advantage compared to plastic alternatives.
Dimensions and Weight
With an item weight of 2.1 pounds and dimensions of 9.1 x 7.5 x 6.3 inches, the fountain is lightweight yet sturdy, making it easy to reposition if necessary. Its compact size allows it to fit comfortably in various indoor spaces without taking up too much room.
Features and Functionality
Smart Monitoring App
One of the standout features of the PETLIBRO water fountain is its connectivity with the Dockstream App, which supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. This app allows pet owners to set hydration goals and monitor their cats’ drinking volume, frequency, and time. Users have reported that the app is user-friendly and effective, with real-time notifications regarding their cat’s water intake. However, some users have mentioned experiencing delays in notifications when refilling the fountain.
Hydration Tracking and Goals
The PawSense Health Monitoring System integrated into the app records hydration data comprehensively, providing easy-to-read reports that help owners understand their cat’s health better. The ability to set hydration goals and monitor progress has been particularly appreciated by users, allowing for a proactive approach to their pets’ health.
Easy to Clean
The fountain features a detachable water tank, making refilling and cleaning a breeze. The wireless pump design eliminates the hassle of tangled cords during maintenance, which many users have found to be a significant improvement over previous models.
Filter System
The multi-layer filtration system effectively removes impurities, ensuring that your pet has access to fresh, clean water at all times. Users are advised to change the filters every two weeks and to clean the fountain and pump weekly to maintain optimal performance.
Performance and User Experience
Noise Level
A common concern among pet owners is the noise level of water fountains. The PETLIBRO fountain operates at a barely audible level of 23dB, ensuring that it does not disturb your household or your pet’s sleep. Many users have reported satisfaction with this feature, noting that their pets adapted quickly to the fountain.
Cat Acceptance
Most cats take to the fountain with ease, often drinking more water than they would from a traditional bowl. The continuous flow of water encourages hydration, which is crucial for their overall health. Users have noted that their cats enjoy both the flowing water and the still water available at the top of the stainless steel bowl.
Notifications and Alerts
While the app does provide real-time alerts about water levels and filter changes, some users have expressed a desire for customizable notification options. The app currently sends frequent updates about minor water intake changes, which some find excessive. A more tailored notification system could enhance the user experience.
Conclusion and Rating
Overall, the PETLIBRO App Monitoring Cat Water Fountain offers a blend of style, functionality, and convenience that is hard to beat. Its smart features, ease of cleaning, and low noise levels significantly enhance the pet hydration experience. However, minor issues with app notifications and the necessity to keep it plugged in may deter some potential buyers.

This product was a breeze to set up, thanks to the various instruction options in the manual and the QR code for video guidance. I had it ready to go in under five minutes. I’m impressed with its aesthetic and high-quality design. The size is perfect, and the stainless steel finish makes cleaning a snap. Most importantly, it effectively tracks my pets’ water intake.

Great filters, but be cautious about the size! I accidentally ordered this one, and our water fountain requires larger filters. Make sure to read the description carefully!

The description states that it can be used without being plugged in, but this model, despite being the most expensive on Amazon, actually requires a connection. This makes it inefficient for those of us who can’t keep it plugged in all day. It’s true that the brand offers products that can operate without being connected for 30 days, but in this case, don’t be misled—this model does not provide that feature. It’s a disappointing letdown.
Behold, absolute reviewer –
After my previous fountain broke, I was without one for a while. The last one was cheaper, but the quality reflected that—it didn’t last long, and the pump failed. I hesitated to buy a new fountain because I wasn’t sure what to choose. However, I came across numerous positive reviews online about this model, which claimed it was not only easy to clean but also exceptionally quiet. This is crucial since many budget options tend to hum loudly throughout the day.
I decided to invest in this fountain, even though it was more than double what I had spent on the last one. After just a week of use, I can already tell it’s worth the price. The base is fully modular, making cleaning hassle-free without dealing with annoying wires. The accompanying app tracks the water level and monitors how often my cat drinks.
I’ve also noticed that my cat seems to drink more water now, thanks to the constant flow rather than stagnant water in a bowl. Overall, I’m very pleased with this fountain. The design is fantastic, and disassembling it for cleaning is a breeze. I’m glad I took the plunge on this purchase. While it is on the pricier side, if it continues to remain quiet and functions well, I can’t ask for much more.
(Note: The humming in the video is from my fridge, not the fountain.)

For my first cat water fountain, I opted for the budget-friendly “flower” design, which my cats adored. Unfortunately, it frequently clogged and overflowed, resulting in soaked mats and eventually damaging my floor outlet, despite my attempts to protect it. I was hesitant to invest in another fountain, but I finally decided to purchase this one along with a silicone mat with a lip. I’ve just set it up, so I can’t comment on its long-term performance yet.
The design is fantastic! I bought the black version, and I love its sleek look and wood grain finish. Assembly was a breeze, and all parts can be disassembled for deep cleaning—something my previous fountain lacked, which contributed to it getting dirty quickly. The ability to clean this one easily is a major plus for me.
One of the standout features, which I didn’t notice until it arrived, is the water reservoir that lifts off the base. It works like a wireless phone charger, eliminating the need to unplug it for cleaning or refilling, and preventing the cord from getting wet. The cord is also made of braided material with a USB-C port, making it more resistant to damage from my cats.
Additional benefits include its quiet operation and the app that alerts me when the water level is low—an essential feature since the walls aren’t transparent, making it hard to check the water level. I just hope the app remains accurate!
Overall, this fountain was a worthwhile investment!

I’ve had a great experience with the PETLIBRO water fountain and its accompanying app. Assembly was a breeze, and it seems easy to clean as well. While I’ve seen other reviews mentioning app issues, I haven’t encountered any problems receiving notifications when my cat hasn’t had water. It may take a moment to register when I refill the fountain, but everything else has been flawless. The app tracks how much water my cat drinks and for how long, which is really helpful, and it alerts me when it’s time to change the filters. Plus, I can set water goals to monitor my cat’s progress. The fountain also holds a good amount of water. Overall, I’ve loved it, and my cat does too!

Incredibly quiet fountain. No complaints at all.

Wow! I was amazed when I replaced the filter. This product works flawlessly. The machine is surprisingly quiet, too. The filters are worth every penny. They’re super easy to clean, and it even includes a small brush for added convenience. Everything is straightforward and the design is user-friendly.

Assembling and setting up this product was a breeze, and it’s also easy to clean and use. I use baby dish soap for cleaning. It operates quietly, but when the water tank gets low, you can hear the water splashing, which is a helpful reminder to refill it. My kitten adjusted to it right away; she drinks from both the flowing stream and the still water in the stainless steel bowl. I haven’t noticed any water spillage outside of the fountain. Changing the filters is straightforward, and it’s convenient that the app tracks them. However, I do wish the app would send notifications for low water levels and filter replacements. It’s odd since the scale is very sensitive, and I get constant notifications about my cat drinking small amounts, like 0.2 oz or 0.5 oz. You can turn off these notifications, but I would prefer an option to get reminders only for cleaning, replacements, and emergencies like low water or disconnection from Wi-Fi or power. When the fountain loses power, the top section doesn’t retain water, so you’ll need to remove the top to access the tank for your cat to drink. All in all, it’s a fantastic product—sturdy, free of wobbling, odors, or rust, and it looks great too.
