This watch is fantastic and extremely easy to read. The large, clear numbers are easily visible even at a quick glance. I love the added benefit of the 24-hour clock feature. The indigo light is perfect for nighttime visibility and seems to last a long time. The date function is also a great addition; it took me a bit to set up, but now it’s very useful. The strap is an 18 mm soft leather band that’s comfortable to wear. If I needed more than one watch, I would definitely purchase this one again. This is my third Indiglo watch, and I believe it’s my favorite.

I wore a Timex watch (with Indigo) daily for around 15 years until the battery died. Unfortunately, I attempted to replace it myself and ended up breaking the watch (not going into specifics). Amazon delivered my new watch the very next day. It’s easy to read, stylish, and very affordable.

This Timex watch is exactly what I hoped for. It’s a nice size—36mm—perfect for someone with a small wrist.

As someone who is far-sighted, I usually have to take off my glasses to see things up close. With a typical digital watch, checking the time required both hands. However, this watch is super easy to read at a glance thanks to its large face and bold numbers. And let me tell you about the backlight—it’s incredibly bright; you could almost use it to signal a jumbo jet! I love that it’s slim, with most of the face dedicated to the time rather than some fancy compass gimmick that makes you look like you’re ready for an adventure. As for the ticking noise? Who cares? It’s a watch! If it keeps you up at night, you probably have bigger issues to deal with. Just place it on something soft on your nightstand, and you’ll notice the difference—thank me later.

When it comes to analog watches, I’m not a runner or pilot, so I don’t need precise timing. If I need an alarm, I can use my phone, which also has a stopwatch if necessary. When I check the time, I don’t need to know it’s 7:56:48—I just want to know it’s almost eight. No need to stress over the details.

Regarding analog versus digital, my kids struggle with reading analog clocks, and they’re nearly teenagers. If I walk into the TV room and announce, “It’s time for bed, it’s ten o’clock,” they’ll likely correct me with, “No, it’s nine-fifty-eight!” The key difference is that analog displays time in a relative manner, while digital shows it in absolute terms. The concept of “a quarter past one” doesn’t exist digitally; it’s simply 1:15. An analog watch visually represents time as it passes—quarters, thirds, halves—like a sundial. You don’t need to know it’s precisely noon; just that it’s lunchtime. Digital clocks reduce time to cold statistics, requiring mental gymnastics to interpret. A quick glance at an analog watch tells you it’s time to start thinking about lunch, whereas a digital watch is only really handy on New Year’s Eve or during a baby’s birth.

I wear a watch 24/7—while sleeping, showering, and even while changing the oil in my car. I like to check the time at night: “Thank goodness, it’s only 3:30. Back to sleep.” My biggest concern is getting a tan line in the summer, but thankfully, my life is pretty laid-back. I hope this watch brings you peace of mind too.

Update: This watch works perfectly with the Men’s Rubbertech™ Silicone Rubber Watchband with Stainless Steel Deployment Buckle (Black, 18mm) available on Amazon. Outstanding product.

Update June 2019: After wearing this watch nearly 24/7 for over eight years—including during bed, shower, work, swimming, and everything in between, except for when I had an MRI—it finally started to show some wear. First, the backlight dimmed, and then it began to slow down. I figured that replacing the battery would cost almost as much as a new watch at a jeweler. But no, a new battery was only $4.65. I pried off the back with a Swiss Army knife can opener blade and replaced it myself. Now it’s good as new! Just need to polish the bezel due to wear from construction work.

I challenge you to find another watch that offers as many features as this one. After searching extensively, I can confidently say this is the only watch that met all my requirements. It’s a stylish, lightweight, easy-to-read, affordable, water-resistant analog watch, complete with a night light and a day/date display.

The design is a subtle classic with a round face, featuring just one side button and no unnecessary tachometer or compass details. Its understated chrome finish and leather strap make it suitable for everyday wear, whether at home, the office, or out for the evening.

Being lightweight means it stays securely on my wrist without sliding around like some heavier, more rugged watches. Its size is discreet, allowing it to serve its purpose without drawing attention.

Reading the time is effortless thanks to the large, bold, black sans-serif numbers on a white background, which are clear at a glance. While Amazon often has fantastic prices, even without their discounts, this watch is priced under $50—a steal for such a unique find.

Some watches in this price range lack water resistance, but this one can handle showers and dishwashing without any concerns. I used to believe digital watches were easier to read, but I’ve come to appreciate that analog watches provide a better visual sense of time, allowing you to see how much of the hour has passed. The constant movement of the second hand also makes it easy to track the passage of time.

Timex’s Indiglo backlight is a standout feature, allowing for easy reading in low-light conditions with just a press of the side button. This feature alone makes Timex watches a must-have.

Lastly, one of my favorite features is the day of the week display (e.g., MON, TUE, WED) along with the date (e.g., 12, 23, 31). I admit I can be forgetful, and there are times when I need to check the day, especially around holidays when it can be confusing.

In summary, this watch boasts an impressive array of features that are hard to find elsewhere. I was prepared to spend $300 on a comparable watch, and this one exceeded my expectations for under $30. It’s undoubtedly the best watch available at this price point and beyond.

I frequently need to wake up early at Wabakimi Outfitters and rely on knowing the time in the dark. This watch is budget-friendly, easy to read both day and night, has a great illumination feature, and looks appealing as well. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.
