I bought this suitcase to replace my medium-sized American Tourister checked bag that served me well for over 25 years. Here’s how it compares to my old one.
This new bag is impressively lightweight yet feels sturdy and durable, weighing one-third less than my previous suitcase. It offers the largest capacity I found in the 24″ medium checked bag category, with inner dimensions of 24″ x 18″ x 10.5″ (4,536 cubic inches / 74 liters). The slightly recessed casters help reduce the overall height of the bag, and they glide smoothly whether I’m pulling it behind me or pushing it forward.
However, I didn’t give this bag a 5-star rating for a few reasons. It has only one exterior zippered pocket that spans the entire front, and the interior securing straps are rigid, which isn’t my preference—I like elastic better. There’s no waterproof section to keep wet items separate from dry ones, and all the zippered pouches feature an open weave. The expansion zipper wraps around only three sides of the bag, limiting additional space to half of what it could be if it went around all four sides. While the zippers and pulls appear robust, they dangle, making them potential targets for airline damage.
