For musicians seeking the perfect blend of authentic piano performance and modern technology, the Yamaha P225B stands out as a remarkable choice. This 88-key weighted action digital piano promises to deliver an experience that echoes the richness of an acoustic piano while being conveniently compact.

    Realism and Authenticity

The Graded Hammer Compact (GHC) keyboard action is designed to mimic the feel of an acoustic piano. With weighted keys, players can experience the same resistance and feedback they would find in a traditional piano. This attention to detail not only enhances playability but also caters to musicians who value the authenticity of their instrument.

    Rich Sound Quality

One of the standout features of the P225B is its CFX Premium Grand Piano Voice. This voice emulates the powerful and nuanced sound of Yamaha’s renowned CFX concert grand piano. Whether you’re playing classical pieces or contemporary songs, the rich tonal quality adds depth and character to every performance.

    Innovative Features

The Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) technology takes sound realism to the next level by recreating the complex resonance of piano strings and body in real time. This means that the harmonic interplay of sounds is faithfully reproduced, capturing the dynamic nuances of a live performance.

    Enhanced Performance Control

Featuring a Half-Damper Pedal, the P225B offers musicians more control over the sustain of notes. This feature enables nuanced changes and more expressive performances, allowing pianists to add emotion and complexity to their play.

    Smart Pianist App Integration

With the Smart Pianist app, users can unlock even more capabilities from the P225B. The app empowers players to control various functions and access additional features beyond what the instrument offers on its own. This adds an interactive layer to learning and performing, making it easier to engage with music in new ways.

    Specifications and Design

The Yamaha P225B measures 55.5″D x 14.2″W x 8.4″H and weighs approximately 25.4 pounds, making it a portable option for both home and studio use. The modern design in sleek black complements any space while offering a sturdy build that withstands the rigors of travel.

    Conclusion

Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pianist, the Yamaha P225B digital piano provides an exceptional playing experience that successfully bridges the gap between traditional and modern instrumentation. Its authentic keyboard feel, superior sound quality, and smart features make it an ultimate digital piano choice for musicians of all ages. If you’re looking to elevate your piano skills or simply enjoy beautiful music at home, the P225B is definitely worth considering.

      Touch Sensitivity
I’m really glad I chose this model; the touch sensitivity closely resembles that of acoustic pianos. The beautiful sound when my fingers glide over the keys is a world apart from the harsh tone of the digital keyboard I used occasionally as a kid.

      Weight
The key weight feels great and reminds me of playing an acoustic piano, which is what any beginner could hope for.

      Sound
While I’m not a concert-level pianist, the Grand Piano 1 and 2 settings fill the room with rich, warm tones that are very similar to the sounds of my teacher’s upright piano.

      Ease of Use
It’s very user-friendly! I’ve been playing for less than two months, and understanding the settings has not been difficult at all.

      Size
The digital piano seemed quite large when it arrived, so that’s something to keep in mind, as the P-45 does require a bit of space.

Overall, this piano is beginner-friendly, and I’ve found that I’m enjoying my practice much more now that I can play properly. I believe it’s a great starting point for a piano student over the age of 12, as younger children may have smaller hands.

I previously owned a smaller, less expensive keyboard, but it broke. My husband encouraged me to invest in a better one, and I’m so glad he did. This keyboard has a fantastic feel and excellent sound features. It’s quite easy to navigate through different settings. Definitely worth the investment!

I don’t know much about pianos, but I bought this one for my wife. She absolutely loved it and was really happy with the sound quality, which she finds excellent. The key pressure feels unique to her as well. It’s a beautiful instrument, and it looks perfect in our chosen space.

I purchased this digital piano for my wife as a Christmas gift after we decided to sell her upright acoustic piano, which was challenging to keep in tune. After several days of research on various Yamaha P-series models, I chose this one, and it has proven to be worth the extra investment.

All the Yamaha P-series models have a fantastic feel, with carefully weighted keys that closely mimic the experience of playing an acoustic grand piano. Having played on a C5 in the past, I can confirm that Yamaha has successfully recreated that authentic touch.

The sampling on this model is exceptional. Unlike many cheaper alternatives, every key of a Yamaha grand has been individually recorded, resulting in a playback that reflects the unique sound characteristics of each key. This feature shines through, especially when using headphones, as you can detect the subtle nuances created by the internal reflections and sympathetic vibrations of a real piano. While some may think this is a downside, it’s actually a hallmark of how authentic pianos sound compared to lesser digital versions.

Another standout feature of Yamaha is its touch sensitivity, which offers a wide range of velocity dynamics. This characteristic allows for a level of expressive playing similar to an acoustic piano: the harder you hit the keys, the fuller the sound produced, despite the absence of hammers and strings, thanks to the sophisticated sampling process.

Additionally, this model is the entry-level option that includes full duplex audio via USB. This functionality enables you to connect the piano to a computer for MIDI capture or audio recording while also allowing you to play a backing track through the headphones at the same time. This feature is invaluable for recording, as it permits you to hear a click track or other music while you perform.

I haven’t explored the iPad app yet but will update my review accordingly once I do.

The only downside is the included sustain pedal. The P-225 comes with an FC5 Foot Switch, which is adequate and functions as intended, but lacks elegance. Its primary advantage is its versatility as a momentary switch, enabling you to control various functions. As a sustain pedal, it performs its job, though there are more appealing options out there.

I purchased this piano without trying it out in-store because I have always appreciated Yamaha’s sound and quality. The keys feel wonderfully smooth to the touch, and I find it very convenient that the headphone jack is located in the front.

TL;DR: The Yamaha P225B is a compact digital piano featuring exceptional weighted action and a realistic CFX grand piano sound, making it an ideal choice for experienced players looking for a space-saving solution without compromising on quality.

I approached the Yamaha P225B with a mix of skepticism and excitement, and I was thoroughly impressed across the board.

Action: The Graded Hammer Action (GH3) is astonishing. The keys offer nuanced weight and responsiveness, effectively replicating the resistance of an acoustic piano with remarkable precision. Whether playing soft pianissimos or powerful fortissimos, the P225B conveys every subtle expression with impressive fidelity.

Sound: The days of harsh, artificial piano sounds are over. The P225B features Yamaha’s acclaimed PureCF sound engine, which beautifully captures the rich, intricate tone of the flagship CFX concert grand. The stereo sustain samples provide extraordinary depth and realism, emulating the sympathetic resonance of an acoustic piano with stunning authenticity.

Features: The P225B includes several features that enhance both practice and performance. The metronome is a great addition, while the ability to layer different voices or split the keyboard opens up a world of creative possibilities. Bluetooth connectivity makes it easy to play music or connect with learning apps.

Aesthetics: The sleek, minimalist design of the P225B fits seamlessly into any decor. Its matte black finish is fingerprint-resistant and adds a touch of elegance. Compact in size, it is perfect for smaller spaces but still maintains the presence and sophistication of a traditional piano.

Verdict: The Yamaha P225B is a revolutionary option for pianists desiring a high-quality digital piano. It provides an authentic playing experience, impressive sound, and a wealth of features all in a compact, stylish package. It has rekindled my passion for playing, demonstrating that digital pianos can truly capture the essence of acoustic instruments. I highly recommend the Yamaha Stand accessory.

It looks fantastic, and I’m eager to make the most of it. As a beginner, I wanted a digital piano to fully enjoy this beautiful instrument! 😀

I’ve had my keyboard for a couple of months now, and I was excited to finally use my free subscription to flowkey mentioned in the brochure included with my order. I just needed the cable to connect the piano to my laptop. However, I was really disappointed to find out that the subscription isn’t available in my country (I’m from Mexico). It seems fair that since I purchased the product from a store in the United States, they should honor such promotions, or at least clarify when shipping to other countries if certain promotions won’t be valid.

Despite this, I really like my piano and will do my best to make the most of it!

Outstanding quality! Incredible value for the price, I’m truly impressed by the immersive 3D 360-degree sound. With 88 keys, just like a traditional piano, the keys have a sturdy and satisfying feel, making it a pleasure to play. The upgraded sound features the CFX grand, Yamaha’s flagship piano sample, which is absolutely delightful. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase.
